Job Summary: This is a public notice flyer to notify interested applicants of anticipated vacancies through the DHA for DIB-MRTFB. Applications will not be accepted through this flyer. Major Duties:
- You will disassemble, overhaul, repair, replace and modify miscellaneous aircraft composite assemblies and/or parts;
- You will evaluate structural damage to determine if repair can be performed at the duty station at which located, or whether more in-depth overhaul is required;
- You will determine production methods, operational sequences and improvise production aids as required;
- You will instruct shop and line personnel in the implementation of new or improved production techniques;
- You will investigate shop technical problems affecting production and apply corrective action, working with engineer support personnel, as required.
Qualifications: Although a specific length of time and experience is not required for most trade and labor occupations, you must show through experience and training that you possess the quality level of knowledge and skill necessary to perform the duties of the position at the level for which you are applying. Qualification requirements emphasis is on quality of experience, not necessarily the length of time. Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the screen out listed below. This job has a screen-out element which will be used to determine minimum eligibility for this job. The Screen-out for this position is performing the following tasks: ABILITY TO DO THE WORK OF THE POSITION WITHOUT MORE THAN NORMAL SUPERVISION Examples of this Screen-out element are: 1) Fabricating, laying-up, and curing a variety of composites for repair of flight components; 2) Reading, interpreting, and applying blueprints, sketches, technical data, and engineering specifications; 3) Determining tooling requirements for fabrication of new assemblies and repair of composite of aircraft structures; 4) Communicating with other commands regarding repair issues, technical data requirements, and support requirements as they occur.
