What We Need: 

The Sr. Credentialing Specialist will play a pivotal role in supervising, training, mentoring, and developing the Credentialing team. This individual will ensure that all vendors, suppliers, hospices, and skilled nursing facilities maintain active status by overseeing the completion of initial credentialing, monthly monitoring, and re-credentialing processes. With a focus on operational excellence and compliance, the Senior Credentialing Specialist will contribute to the ongoing effectiveness and growth of the credentialing function. 

What You Will Do: 

  • Provides support to Credentialing Manager through primary source verification and sanctions of information provided on the Vendor’s application. 
  • Responsible for maintaining a credentialing process in accordance with the organizations policies & procedures and other State and Federal Regulatory Agencies. 
  • Responsible for helping to ensure compliance with licensing and accrediting agency requirements. 
  • Maintain copies of current state licenses, malpractice coverage, and other required credentialing documents for vendors. 
  • Tracks licensure and professional liability expirations for all new and active vendors. 
  • Manages credentialing and re-credentialing processes according to State and Federal guidelines, and Synapse Health’s Policies and Procedures. 
  • Responsible for credentialing and recredentialing for new and active Synapse Health’s vendors. 
  • Inputs data into Synapse Health’s Credentialing database software and provides monthly querying of federal and state Medicare sanction databases. 
  • Coordinates malpractice verification with Risk Management; hospital verifications and credentialing eligibility with Practice Plan Administrators and Medical Staff Office. 

What You Have:

  • 2+ years’ experience in Medical Staff or Payor Credentialing.  
  • Associates/Bachelor's Degree (2 years+)  
  • Proficient in MS Office applications and ability to learn department and job-specific software systems. 
  • Demonstrate organizational skills. 
  • Demonstrate effective verbal and written communication skills. 
  • Demonstrate analytical skills when problem-solving. 
  • Demonstrate high attention to detail and a high degree of accuracy.
