Pratt and Whitney has an exciting opportunity for a Tariff Accounting Analyst.
This is an hybrid position based out of our East Hartford, Connecticut campus location.
This position allows for the opportunity to work in a challenging and dynamic environment. Aspects of the role will evolve and develop over time. The candidate should also be able to provide a high level of customer support along with a focus on delivering business results, working well in cross-functional teams.
Key job requirements:
- Collaborate with customs broker to allocate and record tariff expense accurately across cost categories. Additionally process and ensure timely payments of tariff obligations.
- Extract and analyze export data from SAP to provide accurate documentation to the custom broker in support of the duty drawback process.
- Develop a process to accrue and estimate duty drawback amounts, monitor the related accounts monthly and document procedures to ensure compliance with GAAP.
- Monitor tariff rate in SAP and ensure the monthly application process functions accurately as intended. Collaborate with Digital Technologies as needed.
- Support finance leadership with ad hoc analysis and process improvements.
- Perform regular reconciliations of balance sheet accounts.
- Assist in internal and external audits related to inventory and tariff expense audits.
Qualifications You Must Have:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance and 5+ years of experience in accounting or finance; OR an advanced degree in accounting or finance and 3+ years of experience in accounting or finance.
- Strong MS Excel & MS PowerPoint.
- Strong data analytics skills and interpersonal skills with ability to work with individuals and/or team at all levels.
- U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under this program/contract.
Qualifications We Prefer:
- Experience with SAP.
- Self-starter who enjoys a dynamic work environment.
- Highly adaptable team player with excellent interpersonal skills.
- Well organized person, able to plan, forecast, and track progress and to use written, verbal, and analytical skills to influence business objectives.
