The Principal Financial Group is seeking an HR Business Partner – Principal Asset Management!
Bring your expertise in global Asset Management and passion for people strategy to a pivotal role that shapes the future of talent at Principal. As an HR Business Partner within our dynamic and matrixed enterprise, you’ll serve as a strategic advisor and catalyst for growth aligning talent solutions with ambitious business goals.
As a key member of both the Principal Asset Management (PrinAM) HR leadership team and your assigned client group leadership teams, you’ll drive initiatives that unlock performance, accelerate leadership, and build a resilient, inclusive culture.
What You’ll Do:
- Strategic Talent Leadership: Translate business strategy and market insights into a forward-thinking human capital strategy. Design and implement initiatives that drive succession planning, critical talent development, and organizational effectiveness.
- Talent Management Excellence: Champion a holistic approach to talent through high-impact, transformational projects in collaboration with HRBPs and Centers of Excellence (COEs). Leverage data and analytics to guide decisions, influence leadership, and shape workforce strategies.
- Global Organizational Design: Play a key role in the evolution of global operating models across PrinAM and Global HR ensuring alignment, scalability, and effectiveness.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner seamlessly with COEs including Talent, Compensation, Legal, and Finance to craft integrated people solutions that move the business forward.
- Enterprise-Wide Impact: Lead initiatives that influence Principal's global HR strategy and reinforce our commitment to innovation, inclusivity, and employee success.
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience required, plus 8+ years of experience in HR, including experience in strategy/planning, compensation, development, talent management, and leadership
- Experience working in a global HR model, as well as Asset Management required
- Proven experience working in a global operating model design and execution required
- Must be able to work independently, as well as interdependently at a global level
- Strong experience in organizational design and matrixed organizations
- Must be able to build strong relationships and influence executive leaders
- Strong organizational/project management skills; strategic thinking/planning and decision-making skills with high level of diagnostic and analytical skills required
- Expert communication, facilitation and presentation skills required
- Travel required up to 20%
Work Environments/Location
This role offers hybrid (blending at least three office days in a typical workweek) at our corporate office in Des Moines, Iowa. We are also open to someone located in the New York market.
