Valued partners on the Revenue Team and across the company, NEOGOV Sales Engineers serve as product experts, lead technical demonstrations and influence our product roadmap through cross functional teamwork.

Position Duties
In this hybrid role of SME, seller and project managers, our Sales Engineers main focus is to support Sales/RFP Demonstrations and RFP/RFI Responses by:
Develop and maintain expert level product knowledge of all assigned NEOGOV brand products through ongoing self-study, company provided training, and observing customer calls
Translate prospects’ strategic goals, manual processes, and business requirements into NEOGOV product solutions via RFI/RFP Responses, identified Proof of Concept, and sales demonstrations
Lead value based conversations via technical product demonstrations, while uncovering key priorities to help hit sales quotas and departmental KPI’s
Design, validate and present technical enhancements and solutions for prospective customers and internal teams
Keep pipeline deals/POCs/RFPs/assigned project work on track by maintaining key data and accurate CRM records via calendars and project management tools
Our duties as SMEs, Sellers and PMs are also carried out through our work:
Respond to daily product functionality questions from sales team over social collaboration/email channels; surfacing question trends from the Sales team to deliver/recommend team training needs to Sales Leadership
Serve as peer mentors for Sales team members to improve product knowledge, enhancing discovery conversations and product demonstrations
Participate in NEOGOV Product Councils, articulating sales metrics, ‘pulse of sales’ product trends, and competitor info, influencing product roadmaps to meet revenue goals
Assist Marketing and Training with updates to Sales Enablement resources
Coordinate the maintenance of Sales Demo sites - including training Sales team when new features are released to sites
Support Sales Trainers with new hire/transfer onboarding; delivering product training designed with GSuite, Camtasia, LMS, or internal meeting platforms
Facilitate and Present Sessions at industry conferences, including NEOGOV’s Ignite Conference
Minimum Qualifications
To be successful in this role, Sales Engineers must have key competencies of:
Translating manual or complex business requirements into best product/features
Engaging audiences to clearly present value-based demonstrations and/or training
Fostering rapport and connections with prospects and internal stakeholders through strong emotional intelligence
Ability to listen for cues and adapt conversations to meet customers or internal partner needs
Ability to work independently to manage work and projects while collaborating with a hybrid/remote Revenue team across all US/US Territory time zones
Ability to meet or exceed sales revenue goals, individual MBOs and team KPIs
Ability to stay organized within a fast-paced environment, managing multiple projects and demonstrations
Can-do, creative spirit, with a strong focus on exceptional customer and internal partner service
Qualifications:
2+ years experience using NEOGOV products or comparable HCM/HRIS/Public Safety software as an end user, implementation consultant, trainer or sales team member.
Preference will also be given to applicants with prior sales engineer experience.
2+ years conducting product demonstrations or leading technical training virtually/in person
Prior experience with project management and project management software.
Experience with CRM, Salesforce preferred
Proven track record of meeting or exceeding sale/training/project goals
