We are currently looking for a Release Train Engineer to support our contract with the DRAID CDAO ADA IR Program.
 
As a Release Train Engineer, you will serve as a servant leader and coach, facilitating program-level processes and execution, driving continuous improvement, and enabling ART success in delivering scalable AI and data solutions to meet national defense priorities. This role requires expertise in the Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) and strong program management capabilities to coordinate large-scale Agile teams, manage dependencies, and ensure alignment with strategic objectives.
 

 
Responsibilities/Duties:   
 
Leadership and Coordination:
o   Act as the servant leader for the Agile Release Train (ART), fostering collaboration across teams and stakeholders.
o   Manage and optimize flow within the ART using tools like Kanban systems and Agile metrics.
o   Facilitate PI (Program Increment) Planning events, ensuring alignment on objectives, dependencies, and deliverables.
o   Coordinate with Product Managers, Product Owners, and Scrum Masters to ensure seamless execution of program goals.

Program Execution:
o   Track and manage program risks, dependencies, and impediments, driving resolution to ensure ART progress.
o   Facilitate regular synchronization meetings, such as Scrum of Scrums and ART syncs, to enhance communication and coordination.
o   Support ART in adopting and scaling Agile practices, ensuring adherence to SAFe principles.
o   Monitor and report progress to leadership using Agile metrics such as velocity, burn-down charts, and PI objectives.

Continuous Improvement:
o   Lead Inspect and Adapt (I&A) workshops to drive continuous improvement at the program level.
o   Promote a culture of innovation and collaboration, encouraging teams to experiment and improve processes.
o   Provide coaching and mentorship to teams and individuals, supporting their Agile and SAFe journey.

Program Compliance:
o   Ensure adherence to security guidelines, including NIST SP 800-171 for protecting Controlled Unclassified Information (CUI).
o   Support the integration of Agile tools and technologies for enhanced productivity and collaboration.

Administrative Support:
o   Develop program schedules, staffing plans, and performance reports to ensure successful execution of deliverables.
o   Coordinate travel, training, and onboarding for Embedded Teams, including administrative processes and technology overviews.
o   Provide continuity and mitigation planning for teams located in foreign locations.
 
Required Skills/Qualifications:
·      Experience: Minimum of 8 years of experience in program or project management, with at least 5 years in an Agile environment. Proven track record as a Release Train Engineer or similar role within SAFe.
·      Certifications: SAFe Release Train Engineer (RTE) certification required. Certified Scrum Master (CSM) or PMI-ACP (Agile Certified Practitioner) preferred.
·      Technical Skills: Proficiency in Agile tools such as JIRA, Confluence, and version control systems. Strong understanding of SAFe principles, roles, and practices.
·      Interpersonal Skills: Exceptional leadership, communication, and facilitation skills. Ability to manage large-scale Agile teams and foster collaboration across distributed teams.
·      Domain Knowledge: Familiarity with AI/ML pipelines, data engineering, or national defense projects is highly desirable.
 
Preferred Skills/Qualifications:
·      Experience in a DoD or federal contracting environment.
·      Background in AI engineering, data labeling, and pipeline management tasks.
·      Expertise in managing dependencies and risks in complex systems.
·      Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
·      Experience supporting international teams or working within the constraints of SOFA agreements.
