The Switchboard/Nurse Line Coordinator is proficient in all guest services processes and procedures, including thorough knowledge of all emergency procedures and monitors the team's effectiveness during these situations. In addition, the Switchboard/Nurse Line Coordinator supports the supervisor in team communications and assists with updating educational resources, scheduling, and insuring team members time sheets are up to date.40 hours per week, Monday through Friday from 6:30am-3pm, Weekends optional
Essential Job Functions:
Can function independently in the Switchboard role.
Coordinates and arranges all aspects of internal and external training for switchboard staff and nurse line staff. Clearly explains system functions to users and co-workers, both in ad-hoc and formal situations. Successfully communicates appropriate information to the user, so the stakeholder can accomplish the desired tasks.
Monitors front entrance so that access remains unhindered, allowing for reasonable time for loading and unloading. Provides valet service as needed and appropriate. Keeps lobby clear of wheelchairs and debris.
Assists supervisor with updating time and attendance records and coordinating staffing and scheduling in accordance with established procedures and practices for Switchboard and Nurse Line.
Assists supervisor with effective communication to Switchboard and Nurse Line teams, assuring staff is provided with clear, pertinent, and timely information.
Provides directions and/or way finding to patients and guests within Altru Health System.
Performs other duties as assigned or needed to meet the needs of the department/organization.
Notes:
Experience in creating collaboration using MS Office’s suite of tools is preferred. MS Office certification is also preferred.

This position requires proficiency in reading, writing, and speaking English to ensure effective communication in the workplace and with patients, families, and team members.
