Group Summary:

The NBA Foundation, a public 501(c)(3) charity, is dedicated to driving economic empowerment for under resourced youth, ages 14-24, by funding programs that generate successful transitions from school to meaningful employment with priority being given to organizations operating in NBA team markets. The NBA Foundation will accomplish its mission by investing in programs and partnerships with and making grants to local and national organizations that promote school-to-career employment opportunities, including job readiness, skill training, job placement, and career advancement. We are seeking an enthusiastic and detail-oriented Signature Programs Manager to join our team. This role is ideal for someone with 5-7 years of experience who is passionate about our mission, excels at event management, and has strong organizational and communication skills.

 

Job Summary:
The Signature Programs Manager will support the day-to-day management of the NBA Foundation’s signature programs, NBA HBCU Fellowship, Tech Challenge, and All-Star Pitch Competition. This individual will be managing logistics, contracts, budgets, and events details, and lead communication efforts across agencies, nonprofit and corporate partners to ensure the smooth execution of key Foundation activities.

 

Major Responsibilities:

  • Assist in planning and executing Foundation programs, and initiatives, ensuring alignment with strategic goals.
  • Coordinate scheduling and logistics for meetings, with agencies, vendors, nonprofit partners, and corporate partners
  • Develop project plans, meeting agendas and schedule for major events  
  • Draft, review, and track contracts, ensuring timely execution and compliance with NBA Foundation standards
  • Create and manage event previews (Event 101, Know Before You Go, etc.) and recaps
  • Develop and manage budgets for programs, ensuring cost-effective use of resources
  • Ensuring the event aligns with a brand’s identity and messaging
  • Produce high-quality PowerPoint presentations, written materials, including program summaries, and communication updates for internal and external audiences.
  • Support the Head of Operations and Partnerships Lead to develop event strategy, operational standards and implement efficient workflows
  • Assist in the event project tracking, creating pre and post-event surveying and evaluation of Foundation programs and initiatives.
  • Partner with Social and Digital Lead to implement branding and storytelling strategies to ensure events align with the Foundation’s mission, and messaging, creating a cohesive and engaging experience for attendees.
  • Maintain positive relationships with nonprofit organizations, NBA teams, players, legends, and corporate partners
  • Serve as a point of contact for inquiries, ensuring clear and professional communication.
  • Assist in coordination of shipping and receiving materials for events
  • Perform related duties as required

Required Education/Professional Experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree required
  • Prior experience in developing and managing large scale events, youth programs, or  background in logistics preferred
  • 5-7 years of relevant experience in program management, operations, program coordination, event management, or a related field.
  • Experience with database management systems and familiarity with financial and operational metrics.

  • Demonstrated time management skills including the ability to meet strict deadlines in a fast-paced environment and to accurately follow instructions, both verbal and written

  • Excellent and professional interpersonal skills; self starter and team-oriented demeanor
  • Excellent and advanced proficiency with MS Office Suite, especially PowerPoint.
  • Ability to perform duties while maintaining the highest level of confidentiality
  • Serve as the point of contact for clients and vendors or acting as the liaison for Head of Operations and Partnership Lead throughout the event process (pre-event, event, post-event).
  • Strong project management skills with an ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
  • Demonstrated experience in logistics, contracts, budgeting, and data management.
  • Excellent writing and communication skills, with the ability to produce clear, concise, and engaging content.
  • Proven ability to build relationships and work collaboratively with diverse stakeholders.
  • A passion for social impact, community engagement, and the NBA Foundation’s mission.

 

Salary Range: $105,000 - $120,000
