Who You’ll Work With
As an AVP, VFA Platform Manager you will report to the SVP, Wealth Solutions.
About The Role
This role will be responsible for accountability to lead and support the execution of the product strategy for the commission-based products available through the VALIC Financial Advisors (VFA).
Responsibilities
Lead strategy development and input to further the strategic plans and roadmap for VFA with focus on new product opportunities such as evaluating the onboarding of structured products, ETFs, alternatives, fixed income and other potential new products.
Curate the broker-dealer’s product menu for insurance, fixed income, annuities, and mutual funds to ensure financial professionals have the optimal product suite to compete effectively, and most importantly, to meet clients’ needs.
Lead the product implementation process for new products at launch and conduct ongoing monitoring of approved products.
Develop and lead business and marketing plans and campaigns to drive successful launch of new products and programs.
Responsible for contract negotiations and execution of selling agreements.
Track, analyze and evaluate program effectiveness and marketing campaigns with strategic partners.
Lead the financial planning concierge desk and serve as primary subject matter expert for financial planning to include retirement income planning, estate and advanced planning.
Business leader for financial planning programs to include eMoney and additional goal based financial planning solutions. This role will design and deliver the financial planning curriculum and training for the financial professionals.
Identify and execute the product strategy to ensure the Financial Advisors have the optimal product suite to compete effectively in the market and most importantly to meet client’s needs.
Strategic and tactical due diligence for structured products which will include issuer due diligence and selection, analysis of payoff structures, underlying indexes or stock baskets along with the evaluation of principal protected and partially principal protected structures.
Ensure the appropriate due diligence is undertaken on all product matters that meet regulatory and compliance mandates within the current VFA governance standards which will include required review of conflicts, such as compensation conflicts, product shelf positioning and assuring compliance regulatory compliance for product shelf and assure the implementation of controls and mitigation requirements as needed.
Engagement with custodian/clearing broker-dealer for operational enhancements, implementation of efficiencies and problem resolution.
Manage the team of financial planning, annuity, fixed income, mutual funds and ETFs, along with insurance products experts within the broker-dealer and also manage virtual teams as needed across the organization.
Lead the co-creation and delivery of timely thought leadership on topics of interest to wealth management clients, with particular focus on financial, retirement, & estate planning
Lead team and enterprise efforts within Corebridge to develop and deliver content in for written, social media, or via public relations related to timely wealth management topics
Partnering with marketing and social media teams to build brand presence on wealth topics.

Skills and Qualifications
Extensive experience in the financial services industry in product management and financial planning leadership related role(s).
Candidate must have experience with structured products, fixed income and life insurance, as well as experience with ETFs, alternatives, annuities and mutual funds.
Candidate must have extensive knowledge and understanding of the financial planning journey.
Candidate must have core understanding and command of the investment and insurance business including knowledge and experience with broad array of investment solutions, experience testing of products and platform capabilities for new and existing product types, and evaluation and positioning of investment strategies to meet clients’ needs.
The candidate must have experience with supporting the development of marketing programs and identifying client needs for the respective market and product set(s).
Required licenses: Series 7, Series 63, life insurance license and Series 24. All licenses not required for hire date and may be taken within a reasonable time period.
Experience: 10+ years of experience in financial services industry with 5+ years primary focus of related experience with investment and protection related products such as structured products, ETFs, life insurance, fixed income and mutual funds.
Annuity experience a plus.
Bachelor’s degree required, and post graduate work or master’s degree a plus.
Certified Financial Planner (CFP) designation a plus
This position is based in Corebridge Financial’s Houston, TX office and is subject to our hybrid working policy, which gives colleagues the benefits of working both in an office and remotely.
