Hybrid Student Job Opportunity: Finance Associate (Communications-Focused) (Student Wage) na UVA

Remote-Friendly | Flexible Hours | Creative & Writing-Heavy Role

Don’t let the title fool you — this isn’t a job full of spreadsheets. We’re looking for a strong writer with a creative streak to join the UVA Finance Communications team as our next Finance Associate (student worker).

This position is ideal for a student who:

·         Loves writing and storytelling (think: interviews, features, social media posts, and web content)

·         Has a sharp eye for detail (you’ll do some proofreading and accessibility checks)

·         Can work independently but loves to collaborate

·         Brings fresh ideas and isn’t afraid to speak up

·         Has some experience with Canva or an interest in light design work

What You’ll Do:

·         Write blog posts, briefings, and social media content

·         Help keep our websites accurate, accessible, and engaging

·         Support creative projects alongside our Communications Manager and Creative Lead

·         Pitch ideas and contribute to making our content fun, clear, and meaningful

Location:
Remote is great! Occasional in-person work at Carruthers Hall may be requested, and if you prefer to work on-site, we’ll happily set you up with a spot.

Bonus Points For:

·         Familiarity with Canva or other design tools

·         Experience with web publishing or accessibility (but we’ll teach you what you need)

·         An interest in university operations, communications, or public service

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

This is primarily a sedentary job involving extensive use of desktop computers. The job does occasionally require traveling some distance to attend meetings, and programs.
