About the Role

As the Head of Engineering, you will be responsible for all aspects of our client's technology execution. You will be deeply involved in engineering management, systems architecture development, security, testing, and release management. This is a hands-on role that requires both leadership and technical expertise. You will work closely with the executive team to align technology initiatives with business objectives, while also leading a small team of engineers, a data analyst, and a product designer.

About You

  • Lead the architecture, design, and implementation of scalable, secure, and innovative technology solutions, ensuring scalability, reliability, and security of the overall systems architecture of our platforms.
  • Lead and manage engineering teams, ensuring that projects are delivered on time, via efficient workflows, and to a an established standard of quality.
  • Implement and enforce robust security protocols to protect user data and ensure compliance with relevant regulations.
  • Conduct regular security audits and vulnerability assessments to identify and mitigate potential risks.
  • Develop and implement comprehensive testing strategies, including unit, integration, and end-to-end testing.
  • Ensure that all releases meet quality standards and are thoroughly tested before deployment.
  • Maintain a continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipeline to streamline the release process.
  • Oversee the release management process, ensuring smooth and timely deployments of new features and updates.
  • Coordinate with the engineering team and other stakeholders to manage release schedules and priorities.
  • Monitor and resolve any issues that arise during or after deployment, ensuring minimal disruption to users.
  • Work closely with the CEO, CCO, and other executives to align technology initiatives with overall company strategy, and contribute to goal-setting and strategy development.
  • Act as a bridge between the engineering team and other departments, facilitating clear communication and effective collaboration.
  • Drive continuous improvement in all aspects of the technology function, from development processes to system performance.
  • Encourage and support experimentation and innovation within the engineering team, fostering a culture of creativity and problem-solving.
  • Stay up to date with industry standards and best practices in cybersecurity and data protection.
  • Be plugged into open source developer communities at the frontier of artificial intelligence research & development, particularly where multi-modal agent development is concerned
  • Continuously evaluate emerging technologies, analyze frontier research papers, and stay informed of developments in local and global fintech & AI industries

  • Proven experience in a senior technology leadership role, preferably in a fintech, AI or technology-driven company.
  • Strong technical expertise in software development, architecture, and infrastructure, with a focus on AI-driven solutions.
  • Experience in engineering management, with a track record of leading small to mid-sized teams in a fast-paced environment.
  • Deep understanding of systems architecture, security, testing, and release management, with hands-on experience in these areas.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to make strategic decisions in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams and executive leadership.
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field; advanced technical certifications are a plus.
  • Proven experience in a similar senior technology leadership role, preferably in a fintech or technology-driven company.
  • Experience with the financial services industry across payments, asset management, banking, and/or blockchain technologies.
  • Strong technical expertise in software development, architecture, and infrastructure, with a focus on AI-driven solutions.
  • Experience in engineering management, with a track record of leading small to mid-sized teams in a fast-paced environment.
  • Extensive experience in developing complex software systems for mobile apps backend environments.
  • Deep understanding of systems architecture, security, testing, and release management, with hands-on experience in these areas.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to make strategic decisions in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams and executive leadership.
  • Experience with cybersecurity protocols, frameworks and best practices
  • Fluency in Python/Django
  • Superior research and data analysis skills.
