Our mission is to create a future where age is no barrier to opportunity, where experience is valued.What difference will you make?As a trustee, you will play a vital role in guiding and supporting the organisation's mission to empower older workers and combat age discrimination in the workplace. We are looking for individuals with expertise in either technology and social media or financial knowledge to contribute to our strategic direction and ensure the effective governance of the charity.What are we looking for?A strong commitment to the mission and values of WiseAge. Relevant experience and expertise in financial management. Excellent communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills. Ability to think strategically and analytically, with a problem-solving mindset. Understanding of governance principles and willingness to fulfil the duties and responsibilities of a trustee.What will you be doing?WiseAge is seeking two dedicated and passionate individuals to join our Board of Trustees. Trustee Responsibilities Financial Knowledge Provide strategic oversight and guidance on financial matters to ensure the long-term sustainability of the organisation. Review and analyse financial reports, budgets, and forecasts, offering insights and recommendations to the Board. Work closely with the finance team to establish financial policies, procedures, and controls that align with regulatory requirements and best practices. Assist in fundraising efforts by leveraging your network and expertise to identify potential donors, sponsors, and grant opportunities. Monitor financial risks and opportunities, proactively addressing any issues that may arise to mitigate the impact on the organisation's operations. Time Commitment Approximately 6-8 hours per month, including attendance at monthly Board meetings and participation in relevant committee work.
