SMX is currently recruiting for a Project Manager to support our State and Local Government customers. SMX seeks to advance the critical missions of the United States through advanced software development, operation and maintenance of multiple 24x7 complex environments leveraging a wide variety of process methodologies and technologies. You will join a team of highly driven, supportive, and skilled professionals engaged in delivering solutions for our most critical national and local challenges.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Plan and manage technical projects to ensure they remain in scope and are completed effectively and efficiently, on time and within budget.
  • Supervise, direct, and manage technical and administrative Contractor personnel in the completion of network, appliance or application system design, installation, integration, migration, testing, training, and/or administration.
  • Serve as the on-site or virtual technical point of contact for project services provided by the Contractor.
  • Provide updated technical, schedule, and risk status inputs to Contractor management, prime contractor (where appropriate) and Customer leads.
  • Conduct project management for individually assigned project(s) by preparing and updating project plans, submitting status reports, and capturing lessons learned.
  • Coordinate cross-functional meetings of personnel related to project, whether contractor, subcontractor, associate contractor, or client team members.
  • Allocate appropriate resources to ensure projects are completed within the given time and budget.
  • Create, submit, and track services, software, and equipment procurement documentation.
  • Work cooperatively with the Program Manager and other Project Managers in developing short- and long-range goals, objectives, policies and operating procedures in accordance with contract parameters.
  • Work with team to problem-solve and facilitates issue resolution.

Required Skills/Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in technical or business-related discipline
  • Practical project management experience in a State and Local or Department of Defense environment
  • Understanding of project management principles to effectively manage cost, schedule, and scope; Project Management Professional (PMP) (within 6 months of hire)
  • Ability to handle shifting priorities and possess excellent time management skills to complete tasks within required timeframes with little to no supervision
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills to interact with stakeholders
  • Ability to manage project budgets, identify financial issues, and develop Rough Order of Magnitudes (ROMs)
  • Must be a US Citizen with ability to pass a standard background check

Desired Skills:

  • Knowledge of process improvement techniques and ability to direct improvement initiatives
  • One or more technical certifications is a plus

The SMX salary determination process takes into account a number of factors, including but not limited to, geographic location, Federal Government contract labor categories, relevant prior work experience, specific skills, education and certifications. The proposed salary for this position is:

$89,100—$145,000 USD
