We are looking for a Job Profile Database Administrator I who will:
- Controls the activities related to database planning and development. 80%
- Creates backups, edits indexes, and performs installations and upgrades.
- Creates tables and assists in the design of the basic structure of the database.
- Assists with establishing policies and procedures pertaining to database management, security, maintenance, and utilization.
- Sets and monitors standards. % of Time: 80
- Job Responsibilities
- Confers with internal department managers regarding problems with and capabilities of various internally-used databases.
- Advises managers on database concepts and functional capabilities.
- Recommends systems changes to programming management.
- May prepare periodic reports regarding unit's activities and goals attainment.
- Provides after-hours and on-call support for database events on a rotating schedule with the rest of the team.
- What challenges/problems does this position face on a regular basis?
To install the Oracle 19c software on a new machine, or
- Apply the recently published security patches, or
- Apply the database upgrade for the next release of a CSG application, or
- Copy a database from production to development, or
- Setup a schedule to perform database maintenance, such as updating statistics.
- Develop a SQL procedure to perform a database job.
