API Developer
The UW Madison ERP Ancillary Systems Program (ASP) is partnering with Administrative Transformation Program (ATP), other enterprise level programs, and UW Madison schools, colleges, institutes and divisions. While ATP is responsible for migrating systems from PeopleSoft to Workday and training end-users on the Workday functionality, the ASP team is responsible for ensuring that more than 800 systems that currently interact with financial or HR data from PeopleSoft continue to work, uninterrupted, once Workday goes live, and that their system owners are supported through this change.
The University of Wisconsin Madison is looking for a developer to assist with analysis and building of APIs in support of external applications to our Workday environment.
We are looking for a candidate that can work independently in a small team setting to perform analysis, coding, and testing. The ASP API team supports our current ATP project (Workday) by creating APIs for various external applications that require HR and Financial data.
Key Responsibilities:
- Work closely and collaboratively with the rest of the development team in a Scrum Agile work structure
- Actively participate in daily standups, refinement sessions, sprint reviews, and retrospectives
- Coordinate with Functional Business analysts and testing leads to troubleshoot and discuss problem resolution.
- Code and design APIs for future-state ancillary system use.

- 3 years AWS experience
- Experience with database design, setup, and maintenance. Minimum 2 years of API building experience

Location: Remote work (UW Madison campus; North America Central Time zone)
40 hours per week with 9am 4pm CST core hours.
