Neuberger Berman is seeking a Senior Compensation Specialist on a fixed term basis to join the Global Compensation & Analytics team in Human Capital Management through February 2026. This individual will collaborate closely with the team to provide strategic compensation support ensuring competitive and equitable pay practices and will play a key role in major processes such as compensation planning, budgeting, and the year-end compensation review.

Responsibilities:

  • Analyze human capital data to deliver meaningful metrics to support the broader HCM function and senior management (including, but not limited to, workforce activity, headcount forecasting, compensation review).

  • Support the compensation benchmarking process by utilizing McLagan surveys to ensure the Firm’s compensation remains competitive.

  • Assist and influence compensation design and programs.

  • In partnership with the Compensation team, facilitate the year-end Annual Compensation Planning Cycle firmwide. 

  • Provide support on projects, develop project plans, manage timelines, and ensure deliverables are met. 

  • Provide routine weekly, monthly, and ad hoc compensation and headcount reporting.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent.

  • Minimum of 7 years of relevant experience in Compensation or related field.

  • Previous experience in Investment Management or Financial Services preferred.

  • Mastery of Excel functions (lookups, pivot tables, SUMIFS, nested ifs, etc.) with the ability to analyze multiple, large data sets and present results coherently and concisely.

  • Highly organized, attention to detail and excellent follow-through required.

  • Excellent analytical, quantitative analysis, and problem-solving skills.

  • Ability to manage projects both independently, collaboratively and for the team.

  • Exemplary written and verbal communication skills with the ability to communicate complex compensation insights and concepts to stakeholders effectively.

  • Strong interpersonal skills with ability to build relationships with others and influence people across all levels.

  • Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment.

  • Ability to handle highly sensitive data with confidentiality and discretion.

  • Knowledge and proficiency of Tableau and Workday Adaptive Workforce Planning are desirable.

Compensation Details

The salary range for this role is $120,000-$165,000. This is the lowest to highest salary we in good faith believe we would pay for this role at the time of this posting. We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range, and the range may be modified in the future. This range is only applicable for jobs to be performed in the job posting location. An employee’s pay position within the salary range will be based on several factors including, but limited to, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, geographic location, business sector, performance, shift, travel requirements, sales or revenue-based metrics, market benchmarking data, any collective bargaining agreements, and business or organizational needs. This job is also eligible for a discretionary bonus, which, along with base salary and retirement contributions, is part of our total comprehensive package. We offer a comprehensive package of benefits including paid time off, medical/dental/vision insurance, 401(k), life insurance and other benefits to eligible employees.
