Job Summary: Marine Corps Community Services (MCCS) is looking for the best and brightest to join our Team! Major Duties:
- Maintains surveillance throughout designated activities, observing customers and employees, in an effort to prevent and detect dishonest acts. Detains anyone suspected of a dishonest act and escorts them to the Security Office or releases person(s) to uniformed law enforcement official; prepares reports pertaining to security incidents; gathers facts and evidence; and maintains close liaison with law enforcement authorities. May be required to appear and testify in court or at hearings concerning security cases. Studies inventory losses and conducts inquiries as required, in high shortage areas. Reviews merchandise periodically to ensure proper pricing. Monitors internal and external security systems to ensure they are working properly. Investigates matters relating to security such as customer losses, illegal identification cards, unauthorized patron entry and reports of theft or vandalism against MCCS facilities. May accompany cash runs, verifying money received. Verifies money transferred for vending machines. Reviews closing cash register and daily activity reports. Conducts audits, as directed, to include cash counts, property inventory, facility security measures, sales transactions reviews in retail facilities, and weapons inventory. Cash counts may be completed for funds of $1,000.00 and below; incumbent will assist with cash audits for funds in excess of $1,000.00. Weapon inventories will be accompanied by individuals designated to handle weapons. Completes basic audit documents and submits to supervisor. Provides verbal brief to supervisor of audit narrative and outcome. Provides World Class Customer Service with an emphasis on courtesy. Assists customers and communicates positively in a friendly manner. Takes action to solve problems quickly. Alerts the higher-level supervisor, or proper point of contact for help when problems arise. Adheres to safety regulations and standards. Promptly reports any observed workplace hazards, and any injury, occupational illness, and/or property damage resulting from workplace mishaps to the immediate supervisor. Adheres to established standards of actively supporting the principles of the EEO program and prevention of sexual harassment. Performs other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications: A minimum of one year of experience that demonstrates skill in applying security techniques and methods. Have good communication and analytical skills in the application of physical security techniques and methods, and ability to determine necessary actions under various security situations. Have basic math skills in the application of cash audits and property inventories. This is a white-collar position where occasional lifting up to 20 lbs may be required. May perform work that poses physical demands beyond normal requirements. This is a covered position for the Domestic Violence Misdemeanor Amendment to the Gun Control Act for Department of the Navy civilian personnel. Since the incumbent comes in contact with firearms, or ammunition in this position they must complete a DD Form 2760 certifying whether, or not they have ever obtained a qualifying conviction for a misdemeanor, or felony crime of domestic violence. All covered employees have a continuing obligation to notify their supervisors through use of the DD Form 2760 if they obtain a qualifying conviction. As a condition of employment, the incumbent must be able to obtain and maintain an Access National Agency Check and Inquiries (ANACI/ Tier 3) Secret Clearance.
