WHO WE ARE:

Johnson Controls (JCI) builds some of the most popular and recognizable HVAC brands in the industry including York, Coleman, Luxaire, Champion, and Guardian. The JCI facility in Wichita, Kansas produces both split and packaged systems for the residential and light commercial markets. It sits on 63 acres and has about 1.3 million square feet under roof. With a workforce of approximately 1600 employees, JCI is the largest non-aircraft manufacturing employer in Wichita. Our employees design, manufacture, and distribute around one million pieces of quality HVAC equipment each year.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Develop and lead implementation of global technology procurement category strategies  across corporate IT & product business units ”PBUs” (Retail & FM Systems).

  • Act as the procurement lead for both the Retail & FM Systems PBUs by leading both traditional  and non-traditional supplier  procurement activities, ensuring timely execution  and focusing upon global and regional solutions  which improve services and reduce costs.

  • Facilitate the Technology Procurement Process and negotiations  relative to business requirements with the overarching goal of improving JCI’s position in the market.

  • Lead suppliecontracting agreements and execution, collaborating  with Legal on risk-related terms and conditions.

  • Identify, develop and maintain  relationships with internal partners to increase engagement and develop a robust procurement project pipeline.

  • Partner  with the IT vendor management team to ensure SLAs, Scorecards, and effective QBRs for our critical suppliers.

  • Identify, develop and maintain  relationships with key suppliers to understand the supplierscurrent services for the company as well as additional capabilities that JCI could potentially leverage.

  • Support setting cost reduction targets for the organization; calculate and report savings against those targets.

  • Drive compliance  to our Global Procurement Policy.

  • Assist with key supplieissue resolution and risk mitigation, as required.

  • Maintain an extensive knowledge of benchmarks and industry methodologies  for all technology.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 5+ years Category Management and Strategic Sourcing expertise preferably in software and IT services.

  • Strong background in contracting complex master service agreements.

  • High financial acumen with ability to construct and negotiate complex global agreements.

  • Excellent communication skills, ability to influence and drive alignment on complex strategies with the business.

  • Strong analytical skills with ability to manage multiple detailed projects.

  • Global knowledge of procurement policy, processes and tools.

  • Able to achieve goals, self-motivate, take initiative and generally operate with minimal supervision.

  • Able to challenge status quo and create innovative sourcing ideas that drive cost reduction.

  • Bachelors degree in quantitative discipline such as IT, supply chain, finance, or legal.
