Job description Summary

The role of Financial Analyst will work closely with the VP, Financial Planning & Analysis to facilitate all pricing and profitability functions for the organization. You will manage all internal pricing while completing further analysis on profitability and the business as a whole. You will also complete other ad hoc priorities designed to further the business.

What You’ll Do

  • Analyze, interpret and report on current and prospective system and broker pricing
  • Assess profitability and impact of pricing on broker, region and the business
  • Analyze, interpret and report on financial and operating data for the business, which enhance management decision making.
  • Carrying out high-level monthly financial analysis, to identify and report variances in actuals to budgeted
  • Develops graphs, charts and timelines to clearly show data trends and forecasts
  • Demonstrated ability to identify, articulate, document and improve financial and business processes.
  • This position is to be customer service oriented with strong communication skills and interacts regularly with other FIRST Canada departments including sales, operations, and credit functions.
  • Support other departments such as compliance and operations, by conducting an analysis of business outcomes, financial exposure and trends in key operational/financial metrics
  • Ad hoc reporting and special projects as required

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities required

  • Advanced proficiency in MS Excel
  • Minimum 3 to 5 years of Data/Business + Financial Analysis experience
  • Proven ability to impact to P&L
  • Sound knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
  • Database experience preferred
  • Experience with Microsoft Power BI is preferred
  • Able to easily communicate complex analytical details, depending on the audience
  • Analytical, problem solving and organizational aptitude
  • Excellent communication, verbal and written
  • Effective project management skills

Training/Education/Experience Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance or related area
  • Minimum of 3-5 years’ experience in finance, business analysis and reporting function
