Job description Summary
The role of Financial Analyst will work closely with the VP, Financial Planning & Analysis to facilitate all pricing and profitability functions for the organization. You will manage all internal pricing while completing further analysis on profitability and the business as a whole. You will also complete other ad hoc priorities designed to further the business.
What You’ll Do
- Analyze, interpret and report on current and prospective system and broker pricing
- Assess profitability and impact of pricing on broker, region and the business
- Analyze, interpret and report on financial and operating data for the business, which enhance management decision making.
- Carrying out high-level monthly financial analysis, to identify and report variances in actuals to budgeted
- Develops graphs, charts and timelines to clearly show data trends and forecasts
- Demonstrated ability to identify, articulate, document and improve financial and business processes.
- This position is to be customer service oriented with strong communication skills and interacts regularly with other FIRST Canada departments including sales, operations, and credit functions.
- Support other departments such as compliance and operations, by conducting an analysis of business outcomes, financial exposure and trends in key operational/financial metrics
- Ad hoc reporting and special projects as required
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities required
- Advanced proficiency in MS Excel
- Minimum 3 to 5 years of Data/Business + Financial Analysis experience
- Proven ability to impact to P&L
- Sound knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
- Database experience preferred
- Experience with Microsoft Power BI is preferred
- Able to easily communicate complex analytical details, depending on the audience
- Analytical, problem solving and organizational aptitude
- Excellent communication, verbal and written
- Effective project management skills
Training/Education/Experience Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in finance or related area
- Minimum of 3-5 years’ experience in finance, business analysis and reporting function
