The Impact You’ll Make in this Role

As a Compensation Analyst, you will have the opportunity to tap into your curiosity and collaborate with some of the most innovative people around the world. Here, you will make an impact by:

  • Leading 3M’s global job structure and job evaluation processes 
  • Consulting with HR and Leadership on a variety of compensation focus areas including job evaluation, compliance, pay equity and the promotion process
  • Ensuring compliance with U.S. compensation-related legislation, performing audits, monitoring developments, and developing action plans, as necessary
  • Creating and maintaining policies, standards and guidelines, including legal/cross-functional collaboration
  • Partnering on the creation of compensation communications and 3M Go content, ensuring consistency and alignment with business objectives 
  • Owning and/or supporting various compensation processes, such as annual compensation planning, acquisition job mapping, pay transparency and other key compensation initiatives
  • Driving compensation process improvement initiatives, collaborating with internal partners such as HR, IT, and Legal 

Your Skills and Expertise 

To set you up for success in this role from day one, 3M requires (at a minimum) the following qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher (completed and verified prior to start)
  • Five (5) years of HR and/or Finance experience in a private, public, government, or military environment

Additional qualifications that could help you succeed even further in this role include:

  • Five (5) years of cross-functional HR experience in a private, public, government, or military environment, plus three (3) years of compensation experience
  • Skills include knowledge of compensation programs and processes, project management, communication, and relationship-building skills with the ability to influence, analytical and problem-solving skills, detail-oriented with a high level of accuracy, proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, Word) and Workday

Work location:

  • Hybrid Eligible (Job Duties allow for some remote work but require travel to 3M Center as needed)

Travel: May include up to 10% domestic

Relocation Assistance: No relocation authorized

Must be legally authorized to work in country of employment without sponsorship for employment visa status (e.g., H1B status).

Applicable to US Applicants Only:The expected compensation range for this position is $119,076 - $145,537, which includes base pay plus variable incentive pay, if eligible. This range represents a good faith estimate for this position. The specific compensation offered to a candidate may vary based on factors including, but not limited to, the candidate’s relevant knowledge, training, skills, work location, and/or experience.
