The Training and Compliance Officer will provide mine training that is delivered to the required industry standards. Reporting to the Training Superintendent you will play an integral role in the development and implementation of site training programs and systems to maintain compliance to our Health and Safety Management System.
Some key responsibilities include:
- Manage and maintain competency management systems
- Develop and maintain business training needs matrices
- Attend and contribute to risk assessments/document reviews
- Support New to Industry training and competency requirements in conjunction with external RTO’s
- Provide leadership and guidance for crew Trainers and Assessors
- Facilitate Site Inductions, including preparing PPE and documented materials, gathering attendees, providing instruction for onsite eLearning, and presenting audio-visual materials, facilitating site familiarisation and light vehicle assessments
- Develop/source and edit Training Packages for equipment that is new to site
- Liaise with Department Managers and Supervisors to maintain crew compliance and required skills to meet business needs
- Demonstrate a high concern for the health and safety of yourself and others.
Who are we looking for:
You will have the ability to implement, drive and maintain change which will assist in achieving your purpose and targets within this role.
- Experience in a similar role supporting a large project-based environment
- Certificate IV in Training and Assessment
- Knowledge and/or experience using plant and competency management systems is preferred
- Ability to adapt to different systems including internal and client-based programs
- Strong technical aptitude and problem-solving abilities
- Excellent time management and organisational skills
- Ability to build and maintain relationships with key internal and external stakeholders
- Understanding of Coal Mining Safety and Health Act/Regulations (QLD)
