Head Business Unit Specialty (d/f/m)

As a key member of the country management team (Sandoz Leadership Team), you are responsible for building, developing and leading the Specialty Business Unit (BU) organization in order to drive sales performance and profitability. This means setting the strategic guidance of the different Franchise teams (Immunology, Hospital & Oncology and High Specialty) while also building trustful relationships with key customers and external stakeholders.

Your Key Responsibilities:

Your responsibilities include, but not limited to:

  • As a member of the Sandoz Switzerland management team, responsible for the development and successful implementation of the company vision, strategy and priorities as well as for supporting overall people engagement and culture.

  • Foster a positive and inclusive team spirit while having a strong focus on people development, talent management and change management in a fast-changing environment.

  • Ensure the successful (x-functional) planning and implementation of national strategies and tactics. Have complete responsibility for the results of the Business Unit (entire P&L) driving profitable growth of all biosimilars, Specialty Gx products portfolio (e.g., in Oncology and Multiple Sclerosis) and in the Hospital Channel.

  • Anticipate new trends and customer needs through systematic market insights generation; based on these, pro-actively adjust strategic approach, value proposition and resource allocation to maximize market potentials and stay ahead of competition.

  • Build relationships with key Sandoz stakeholders, key accounts and customers, medical experts and leaders in the Swiss healthcare system.

  • Ensure strong collaboration within the team and with the different local, regional and global functions (e.g., Commercial Excellence, Medical Supply, Compliance) through a clear definition of responsibilities & interfaces and living a collaboration mindset.

  • Effectively adhere and promote the highest ethical standards and behaviors, including compliance with all applicable laws, policies, and regulations (like commercial policies, professional practices policy, financial control frameworks, Sandoz code of conduct)

  • KPIs include: Achievement of BU Specialty targets (top & bottom line) and leading & coaching three direct reports, and accountability for all BU employees

What you’ll bring to the role:

Essential Requirements:

  • A university (or equivalent) degree in a scientific or business-related discipline

  • Outstanding track record in pharmaceutical Marketing and Sales

  • Experience in P&L management with strong focus on achieving results

  • Excellent leadership skills; proven record of motivating Marketing & Sales teams

  • Above-average commitment, willingness to work hard and ability to work under pressure

  • Comfortable working with numbers / strong analytical and conceptual skills

  • Very good communication, presentation and negotiation skills

  • Fluent speaker of one of three key Swiss languages (DE, FR, IT) with very good knowledge of English

Desirable Requirements:

  • Fluency in German is highly desirable; French is a bonus

  • Knowledge of the Swiss healthcare market and existing stakeholder network

  • Experience in strategy and concept development

  • In-depth understanding of Biosimilars and Pharma launch experience
