As Sustainability manager, within the Corporate Sustainability team, you will play a pivotal role in   developing, implementing, and overseeing strategic initiatives and projects that contribute to our business and sustainability goals.

This position requires a dynamic individual with a strong background in project management, deep subject matter expertise in corporate sustainability and a passion for driving positive change.

Responsibilities for the role include (but not limited to)

Project Development and Planning:

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify, prioritize and define sustainability projects aligned with organizational goals.

  • Develop and/or review detailed project plans, outlining objectives, timelines, budgets, and resource requirements.

  • Conduct and/or help lead feasibility studies and risk assessments for sustainability projects.

Implementation and Execution:

  • Lead the execution of sustainability projects, ensuring adherence to timelines and budget constraints.

  • Monitor and evaluate project progress, making adjustments as needed to achieve desired outcomes.
     

Stakeholder Engagement:

  • Develop and maintain relationships with internal departments, external partners, and membership organizations to foster collaboration

  • Communicate project goals, achievements, and challenges to stakeholders, promoting awareness and engagement.

Analysis and content development:

  • Conduct research, internal and external analyses to create insights and other reports in the area of Sustainability

  • Prepare regular reports and strategic meetings for leadership meetings (e.g. pre-reads, presentation decks and memos)

  • Write, edit, and optimize high-quality content across various channels to compellingly communicate our sustainability narrative and positioning 

Sustainability Reporting:

  • Evaluate, define and set new sustainability data requirements based on legislation and internal information needs

  • Define the scope for and help set up internal and external sustainability reporting at group level

Who you are 

  • You combine general subject matter knowledge (bachelor's or Master's degree in Sustainability, Environmental Science, Business Administration, or a related field) with 6+ years of proven experience in the field of sustainability

  • You have a proven record of delivering sustainability programs and initiatives with consulting experience. 

  • You are an experienced project leader with demonstrated success in driving and managing sustainability programs and initiatives.

  • You are experienced in working in an agile work environment and in managing highly matrixed teams and multiple stakeholders 

  • You have strong overall communication and editorial skills in English, ideally also in German
