Performs all Senior Systems Administrator duties including the ability to support new technologies for new and existing systems, transition and migration of corporate systems, and isolation and resolution of complex hardware and software problems involving the application, the operating system, the hardware, the communications infrastructure, or any combination thereof.
Principal Accountabilities
(Typical duties include the following, although specific duties vary by assignment or contract.)
- Perform complex system administration of upto 500+ servers.
- Consult with and advise internal users at DIBS and programs if applicable on effective systems solutions and compliance, providing direction regarding the development of concept of operation plans (CONOPS) to guide the tactical steps required to provide business continuance, data security, and disaster recovery. Ensure, your backup is appropriately trained on the above and related accountabilities.
- Provide end-to-end applications analysis and implementation support, including evaluating and recommending the timing and execution of upgrades for Microsoft Enterprise Operating Systems and Applications as directed by Corporate (DI).
- Maintain application performance and correct latency problems from front, middle, and back end systems, tuning the systems to achieve optimum performance levels.
- Perform operational maintenance activities and work requests, incidents, and scheduled change orders (including monthly maintenance) inside corporate ticketing system to ensure systems run efficiently.
- Perform complex software installations, upgrades, and migrations.
- Implement, and promote standard operating procedures and schedules. Conduct hardware, software, and server audits to ensure compliance with established standards, policies, and configuration guidelines.
- Ensure accurate and reliable backup of Local DIBS server
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Knowledge & Skills

- Working knowledge of IT architectures and capabilities.
- Demonstrated understanding of software and hardware configuration management.
- Familiar with principles and best practices related to Active Directory Administration.
- Knowledge of enterprise backup principles, techniques, & software (e.g., CommVault).
- Ability to build enterprise hardware and infrastructure (HP / Cisco Preferred).
- Proficient in completing daily assignments and project activities with great attention to detail and a high degree of accuracy.
- Excellent analytical and critical thinking skills, good judgment, and an ability to act decisively.
- Ability to work without direct supervision and self-learn.
- Ability to suggest system improvements and optimize existing infrastructure.
- Working knowledge of File Server Administration (clustering a plus).
- Advanced skill in performing systems analysis, evaluation, troubleshooting, and maintenance.
- Skilled in interpreting, editing, and composing service procedure documentation.
- Advanced knowledge of MS Server 2008 R2 through 2016, Hyper-V 2012 R2 and 2016, System Center 2012 R2 and 2016 Suite.
Experience & Education
- Bachelor's Degree from an accredited institution in an area applicable to this position (e.g., information systems, computer science, math, or engineering) is preferred.
- Five (5) years of relevant technical experience performing mid-level systems administration activities.
- Three (3) years of relevant technical experience in Windows 2008 R2 and higher.
Physical Requirements/Working Environment
- Works in a normal office environment with controlled temperature and lighting conditions.
- Extended hours of computer use.
