The National Institute of Education invites suitable candidates to join the Asian Languages & Cultures (ALC) Department as a Manager.
Responsibilities:
Provide secretarial support to Head/ALC and members of the ALC Senior Management Committee (SMC).
Provide supervision to 2 MSOs and oversee matters related to their work areas.
Provide administrative support to Head/ALC and department staff, planning and coordinating faculty recruitment, contract renewals, promotion & tenure processes and year-end review exercise.
Oversee financial matters, such as annual budget and workplan submission, half-yearly financial reporting, monthly vetting of Vote Control Register, endorsement of Purchase Requests, approval of claims etc. in the department.
Oversee examination-related matters, such as submission of question papers, marks and appeal for marks review in the department.
Collate information required by other admin departments.
Serve as the department’s PDPA Champion.
Support key events such as the Teachers’ Investiture Ceremony (TIC) and/or NTU Convocation.
Identify and implement enhancements to streamline the work processes in the department.
Perform other ad-hoc duties as assigned.
Requirements:
A University degree, preferably in Business Studies.
3 to 5 years of relevant experience, with some supervisory experience.
Good communication skills, both written and oral.
Meticulous and high attention to details.
Resourceful, self-driven, proactive, strong problem-solving skills, and the ability to work independently.
Good organisational and planning skills.
A good team player who works well with various stakeholders.
Ability to work well under pressure and within tight deadlines.
Adaptable to change.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, especially Word and Excel.
Familiarity with digital tools and an ability to leverage technology for process optimisation.
