At the heart of leadership development lies the Director of ROD Learning Journey, a role that empowers our Regional Operations Directors (RODs) to lead with excellence, impact lives, and drive transformation across the organization. This role is a catalyst for growth, designing and delivering an end-to-end learning experience that spans an ROD's career journey—from hire to retire—ensuring they have the tools, guidance, and inspiration to succeed.

By collaborating with key partners across DaVita University, People Services, field operations, and corporate leadership, the Director will craft innovative learning solutions that shape confident, capable leaders ready to face the challenges of tomorrow. Reporting to the Sr. Director of Learning Journeys, this leader will be a an important member of the Learning Journeys team, driving a culture of continuous improvement and leadership excellence.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

The following duties and responsibilities generally reflect the expectations of this position but are not intended to be all inclusive.

Own Learning Journey Strategy and Execution:

  • Lead and Own the end-to-end learning journey for RODs, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and the seamless integration of key stakeholder inputs by:
    • Deeply understanding business objectives and learner needs to design impactful solutions
    • Defining and executing a learning strategy that addresses current needs while anticipating future demands
    • Developing a clear and actionable future state map, sequencing, and timing for content and experiences
    • Designing and managing enterprise roadmaps to prioritize learning investments and close identified gaps
  • Establish Data-Driven Insights: Form a strong perspective on ROD learning needs by leveraging data, including needs analysis, program metrics and business outcomes (e.g. OB4 metrics, Pulse Survey, etc.)
  • Take Full Accountability: Continuously manage, refine and adapt the ROD learning journey to address evolving enterprise priorities and ensure alignment with strategic learning objectives
  • Drive Execution Excellence: Lead the successful implementation of the ROD learning journey, embodying and advancing the vision of DaVita University
  • Foster Strategic Partnerships: Collaborate closely with technical and operational teams to gather business requirements, evaluate priorities and ensure a smooth delivery of learning programs
  • Proactively Solve Challenges: Anticipate, Identify and resolve roadblocks or issues that impact the success of the learning journey, maintaining momentum and delivering results.

Deliver ROD Learning Programs:

  • Own and Deliver with Excellence: Responsible for the successful delivery of signature ROD learning programs; including the ROD onboarding journey and Field Director Success Workshops (FDSW) that are a part of Leader Crew.
  • Key responsibilities include:  
    • Lead Program Operations: Overseeing operations and logistics for Field Director Success Workshop (FDSW) I (live, in Denver) and FDSW II (virtual) once per quarter in partnership with our DaVita guest faculty (field leader volunteers) and Learning Operations administrative partners
    • Facilitate Learning Content: Partner with DaVita guest faculty to facilitate learning content, drawing from direct field experience to tell stories and engage learners
    • Drive Financial Stewardship: Take full accountability for budgeting and expense management
    • Use Data to Continuously Improve: Leveraging program metrics and participant feedback to refine key resources and evolve programs, ensuring they remain relevant, effective and impactful.
    • Enhance Onboarding Attendance: Partner with program owners of onboarding workshops (e.g., Growth U, Legal Bootcamp, School of Clinical Excellence) to drive participation among new RODs and ensure alignment across offerings
    • Maintain and Evolve Resources: Continuously update and improve onboarding materials, including the ROD Field Guide, New ROD Resource Guide, and DVP Primer, in collaboration with subject matter experts (SMEs) and field operations leaders

Drive Stakeholder Management:

  • Build Strategic Partnerships: Develop and sustain trusted, collaborative relationships with key stakeholders, including DaVita University partners (Learning Journeys, Learning Center of Excellence, School of Leadership), People Services/ Talent team, Ops Design and field operations and corporate leaders across the enterprise.  Serve as a proactive thought partner to align efforts and ensure seamless integration of initiatives.
  • Lead Cross-Functional Initiatives: Drive critical, enterprise-wide projects across multiple service lanes by effectively leading through influence.  Align diverse teams, ensuring measurable progress, accountability and successful implementation of initiatives
  • Ensure Strategic Alignment: Collaborate with leaders at all levels to ensure learning strategy aligns with organizational priorities, enterprise goals and evolving operational needs
  • Deliver Impactful Presentations: Develop and deliver high-impact, executive-level presentations and deliverables tailored to stakeholder audiences, including C-suite leaders and VPs, ensuring clarity, relevance and alignment with strategic objectives
  • Tell a Cohesive Story: Transform data and insights into a compelling narrative, summarizing key takeaways, actionable recommendations, and practical implementation plans.  Equip stakeholders with the information they need to make informed decisions and drive results

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Nursing, or related field required
  • 5 years’ work experience required
  • Minimum of 2 years experience in Regional Operations Director role or equivalent
  • Minimum of 2 years experience in program management, project management, management consulting experience or equivalent
  • Role model the DaVita way and demonstrate strong leadership disposition
  • Team player with strong influencing skills
  • Track record of successful relationship development and ability to quickly build credibility and gain the confidence of individuals at all levels
  • Outstanding conceptual, analytical, strategic, and communication skills
  • Possesses the ability to lead through ambiguity, while balancing strategic vision and execution capabilities to deliver results
  • Advanced computer skills and mastery of MS Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Outlook
  • Open to remote with travel (20-30%)

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master's Degree in business or related field required (MBA preferred)
  • Demonstrable experience of delivering complex, enterprise wide programs in a learning and development capacity.

Salary/ Wage Range

$110,100.00 - $161,700.00 / year

Compensation for the role will depend on a number of factors, including a candidate’s qualifications, skills, competencies and experience and may fall outside of the range shown.
