The Shipping and Receiving Clerk will verify and maintain records on incoming and outgoing shipments involving inventory, merchandise, or materials and arrange for their transportation. Communicates with supervision and co-workers regarding production and schedules. Makes general decisions as to quality, tolerances, and sequences. Maintains a clean and organized work environment.
- Pack, seal, label, or affix postage to prepare materials for shipping, using hand tools, power tools, or postage meter. Selects appropriate shipping methods.
- Record shipment data, such as weight, charges, space availability, damages, or discrepancies, for reporting, accounting, or recordkeeping purposes.
- Move freight, stock, or other materials to and from storage or production areas, loading docks, delivery vehicles, or containers, by hand or using trucks, tractors, or other equipment.
- Maintains work area and equipment in a clean, orderly condition and follows prescribed safety and cleanliness practices.
- Able to promptly produce quality work that satisfies customer requirements.
- Works at different work-areas as needs require. Performs other duties as requested throughout Ranco.

Education, Reasoning ability, and or Experience:
High school diploma or general education degree (GED) preferred; or proven track record in work experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Handles customer complaints or problems in a professional manor.
- Uses Microsoft Office – Outlook, Word, Excel Web browser and ERP software.
- Knowledge of different kinds of metals, bolts and their properties is essential.
- Able to use and apply problem-solving techniques.
- Knowledge of and proficiency in using measuring tools (i.e. tape measure, micrometer, and gauges).
- Able to add, subtract, multiply, divide, and work with fractions and decimals.
- Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and schematics.
