About the Department

Sandhills Community College is seeking applications for a Full-time Welding Instructor to teach daytime and/or evening welding courses starting in August at our Main Campus in Pinehurst. The ideal candidate will demonstrate mastery of current technical skills in the welding field.

Position Duties

1. Instruct open-enrollment and/or high school level welding courses.
2. Provide hands-on skills-based development, instruction, and oversight.
3. Maintain daily attendance, grade, and performance records adhering to Sandhills policy and procedures, as well as guidelines set forth by accreditation agencies- NCCER/AWS.
4. Administer, proctor, and provide reports on credential and non-credential examinations.
5. Maintain a safe and clean welding shop space.
6. Monitor welding supply inventory and notify administrative staff of purchasing needs.
7. Meet with the Director of Advanced Manufacturing as needed to discuss class schedules, student issues, special material needs, and other class-related matters.

Minimum Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years' experience in welding or a related field.

• Ability to communicate professionally and effectively with staff and students

• Computer software knowledge and experience.

Other Qualifications

·  Minimum of an associate degree in a welding-related field such as welding technology or manufacturing technology, or direct experience in the welding field.

·  Teaching experience is a plus.

·  NCCER certified trainer preferred but not required.

·  Minimum of 5 years' experience in welding or a related field.
