From Secure and Fast (SnF) transaction flows to Pay App Marketplaces, we build PCI-compliant services that power next-generation payments applications running in the cloud.

Job Purpose & Responsibilities:

• Architect, design, and develop scalable and secure cloud-native payment applications, including:
  • Pay App in the Cloud
  • PCI-Compliant CDE (Cardholder Data Environment)
  • Payment Terminal Management System services including a Payment Marketplace and APIs
• Own end-to-end feature development and maintenance of real-time transaction systems.
• Collaborate closely with cloud engineers, device engineers, and security teams to ensure PCI-DSS compliance.
• Develop resilient, event-driven services using AWS and other serverless technologies.
• Drive CI/CD practices using Bitbucket Pipelines, automated tests, and integration of workflows.
• Monitor system health using NewRelic, CloudWatch, and custom alerting dashboards.
• Participate in Agile Scrum ceremonies, work collaboratively across time zones with offshore teams.
• Perform technical reviews, document designs, and mentor junior engineers on cloud-native patterns and secure coding best practices.

Minimum Qualifications:

• 8+ years of experience building and maintaining cloud software applications.
• 2+ years of AWS services and architecture for building secure and scalable cloud-based payment platforms.
• Experience working in secure cloud environments and handling cardholder data or payment transactions.
• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, software engineering, or related technical field.
• Familiarity with PCI-DSS compliance.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Master’s degree in computer science, software engineering or related technical field.
• Expertise with AWS Cloud services.
• Experience integrating with payment processors, third-party payment gateways, or Pay App marketplaces.
• Familiarity with MQTT or IoT Core-based messaging for payment device communication.
• Comfortable designing highly available, distributed systems with horizontal scaling and disaster recovery in mind.

Specific Professional Skills/Competencies:

• Tools: Bitbucket, JIRA, CI/CD automation, and observability tools like NewRelic.
• Strong verbal and written communications skills and ability to work effectively across organizations.
• Strong understanding of RESTful APIs, JSON, YAML, authentication, and encryption best practices.
• Experience in Node.js, with solid backend skills in TypeScript, JavaScript.

Physical Demands

• Ability to lift up to OSHA single person lift requirements.
• Ability to sit, stand, bend, or walk for prolonged periods of time.
• Ability to travel domestically and internationally. 
• Must be able to work a standard full-time schedule. 
• Must be able to work a hybrid schedule in the Milpitas, CA office on Tuesdays and Wednesdays.

Benefits include Health, Dental, Vision, Life Insurance, Paid Vacation, 401K, Long and Short-Term Disability, and Tuition Reimbursement. Starting compensation for this role typically ranges between $137,600 - $184,200 annually is commensurate with experience relative to the position and may vary based on candidate geographical location.
