Serves as the first line of customer service to the public (both telephone and walk-in customers). Process building permit applications, maintain permit/inspection database. Spreadsheet and files, process code violation daily reports and send out certified letters. Maintain code violation database and spreadsheet. Process payroll/monthly invoices and create various monthly reports. Calculate fees & issue various inspection permits. Perform related duties as apparent and/or assigned.
ESSENTIAL AND RELATED FUNCTION STATEMENTS:Essential and other important responsibilities and duties may include, but are not limited to, the following:
High school diploma or equivalent.
Minimum two (2) years experience in an administrative support position with proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel computer applications and general office procedures/equipment.
Must be able to rapidly learn and perform tasks, communicate effectively, assimilate and understand information, and maintain composure during situations of conflict.
Must have a public service attitude, work closely with others as part of a team, and interact professionally with staff, Commission/Board members, and the general public at all times.
Requires ability to work under minimal supervision and prioritize work assignments.
Must have a valid driver's license.
Bilingual (Spanish) preferred.
Tasks are performed in a sedentary position at workstation with occasional walking required. Requires extensive use of computer, printer and other office and telecommunications equipment. The employee must exert light physical effort, occasionally involving lifting, carrying, pushing and pulling of objects and materials (mostly file boxes) of up to thirty-five pounds. Requires visual perception and ability to communicate orally. Job must be performed with or without accommodations.
