In the Senior Market Development Manager role, you will be responsible for aligning the QSI product portfolio with the key strategic growth pillars of the commercial business. 
 
You will collaborate closely with other functions such as product marketing, outbound marketing, corporate development, R&D, sales and support to provide insights on customer needs, market trends and competitive landscape across different segments and regions. You will also design and execute external programs and partnerships that generate evidence to demonstrate the value and differentiation of QSI’s products and solutions in various applications.

As part of our team, your core responsibilities will be:  

  • Serve the organization as a subject matter expert building deep knowledge and experience in key life science segments for protein research, including but not limited to drug discovery, development and protein production.  
  • Oversees the development and execution of strategic market development plans that align with the business objectives and customer needs and leverage the competitive advantages of the product portfolio.  
  • Monitors the market trends, customer feedback, and competitive intelligence to identify opportunities and gaps and provide insights and recommendations to leadership and stakeholders.  
  • Design and create educational tools, internal training and support, communications, positioned to win in key segments and application areas for the business.  
  • Works closely with product management, sales, technical support, regional marketing and other cross-functional teams to ensure the successful launch, promotion and adoption of new and existing products and solutions.  
  • Fosters a culture of collaboration, innovation and excellence within the broader commercial team, offering strategic thought partnership and guidance achieve QSI’s commercial ambition as a team.  
  • Establishes and maintains strong relationships with key opinion leaders, industry partners, academic institutions and other external influencers to enhance brand awareness and reputation of the company and products.  
  • Participate in and oversee elements of engagement on topics such as voice of the customer and the market, and participates in various internal and external events, such as webinars, conferences, trade shows, workshops and publications, to showcase the value proposition and differentiation of the products and solutions.  
  • Collaborates with Scientific Affairs to initiate and drive collaborative arrangements with scientific entities to generate data evidence in key application areas.  
  • Key leader that will interface with all levels of the organization and will be an invaluable asset to product marketing, R&D, application development, sales, regional and global marketing, and support. 

 

 

Qualifications 

Baseline skills/experiences/attributes: 
 

  • Bachelor’s degree in chemistry, Biology or other relevant area  
  • Significant commercial experience 10+ years’ experience  
  • Scientific training and a blend of commercial activities spanning proteomic and genomic applications experience 
  • Experience with/of analytical detection technology mass-spec, cytometry, and/or antibodies. Genomics, (qPCR, ddPCR), single-cell applications, related to research and testing environments is highly desired.  
  • Experience with/of protein purification and separation modalities and market.  
  • Exhibit superior leadership strengths in positions of influence – people motivator, multiplier, communication, strategic thinking, and focus.  
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to convey technical knowledge to broad audiences, both written and oral.  
  • Experience fostering cross-functional relationships with team members, products, and workflows. 

 

Ideally, you also have these skills/experiences/attributes (but it’s ok if you don’t!): 

  • Master’s degree in business administration or PhD is preferred  
  • Ability to work in our San Diego office on a full-time basis. 
  • Experience and deep knowledge of translational research across human health, genetics, and oncology.  
  • Experience with evidence generating activities related to human health outcomes to influence and guide business decisions.  
  • Experience with molecular testing modalities, biomarker discovery and development, and next generation sequencing.  

 

 

The estimated base salary range for this role based in the United States of America is: $165,000 - $185,000. Compensation decisions are dependent on several factors including, but not limited to, level of the position, an individual’s skills, knowledge and abilities, location where the role is to be performed, interposition, and alignment with market data. Additionally, all full-time employees are eligible for our discretionary bonus program and equity as part of the compensation package.
