Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems has an opening for a Engineer / Principal Engineer Systems Architect to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals within our Systems organization. This role is located in Melbourne, FL.

The Research & Advanced Design (R&AD) group is looking to grow Joint All Domain Command and Control (JADC2) in support of designing and implementing technologies critical to the USAF Open Architecture initiatives. Our work influences the investment decisions of our senior leadership and customer program offices as well as impacting the Air Force enterprise of acquisition programs.
The candidate will work with the Chief Architect and Systems Engineering lead to design architecture solutions supporting USAF Open Architecture development. The candidate should have experience in developing SysML models and utilizing Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) tools or experience in Mission Engineering. The candidate must also have an active Secret clearance, with the ability to obtain Top Secret and SAP clearances.
Key Responsibilities:
- Participate in architecture definition and complex system problem solving in support of Research and Advanced Design programs
- Design, develop, and document systems that contain logical solutions using Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE)
- Collaborate with the Chief Architect and Lead Systems Engineer to build out Systems Engineering artifacts in support of standards development for incorporation into Northrop Grumman adopting programs
- Generate and present material to support internal and external customer briefings
Basic Qualifications (Base):
- Must have a Bachelor of Science degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering, or Math (STEM) discipline AND 2 years of related professional/military experience OR a Master of Science degree in a STEM discipline AND 0 years of related professional/military experience OR a STEM Ph.D. AND 0 years of related professional/military experience
- Your ability to transfer and maintain the final adjudicated government Secret clearance (DoD must be in-scope or enrolled in Continuous Evaluation) and any program access(es) required for the position within a reasonable period of time, as determined by the Company.
- Your ability to obtain and/or transfer and maintain the final adjudicated government Top Secret clearance within a reasonable period of time, as determined by the Company
- Must have experience developing model-based systems engineering products and/or Mission Engineering
Basic Qualifications (Principal):
- Must have a Bachelor of Science degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering, or Math (STEM) discipline AND 5 years of related professional/military experience OR a Master of Science degree in a STEM discipline AND 3 years of related professional/military experience OR a STEM Ph.D. AND 1 years of related professional/military experience

Preferred Qualifications:
- Current, active Top Secret clearance
- Active SAP
- Experience with AFSIM simulation and modeling
- Knowledge and experience with the definition of OMS – Open Mission System Architecture Specification, UCI – Universal Command and Control Interface, and other DoD Open Architectures
- Experience with Atlassian Tool Suite and Cameo Enterprise Architecture modeling for system design
- Experience in integrating complex system across multiple domains
- Experience demonstrating concepts to management and customers
