Finance and Accounting Department Description 

PPM’s Finance & Accounting department consists of two teams—Corporate Finance and Private Equity Administration. The Corporate Finance Team covers the core aspects of finance, such as accounting, reporting, budgeting, and other operational financial matters. The Private Equity Administration Team works closely with our PPM’s private equity investment group and is responsible for all things operational, analytical, and accounting based.  

Private Equity Administration Team Description 

The Private Equity Administration team supports our private equity business in numerous ways. This includes running analytics on portfolios, ensuring capital calls are executed on a timely basis, compiling regular reports, and collating the financial statements for PPM funds. As part of a close-knit team, successful candidates will enjoy the exposure to all aspects of the operational and reporting cycles. With our private equity growth ambitions, there are no shortage of experiences for candidates with intellectual curiosity. 

Summary of Role

The Private Equity Accountant I is responsible for performing basic accounting tasks, including journal entries, reconciliations, and maintaining financial records. This role supports the PE Administration team by ensuring accurate record-keeping and compliance with company policies and accounting standards.

Role Responsibilities

  • Record journal entries and maintain the general ledger for each private equity fund.

  • Assist with the preparation of financial statements and reports.

  • Reconcile bank statements and accounts.

  • Maintain the inflow of information and documents from fund investments including, but not limited to:

    • Capital call notices

    • Capital distribution notices

    • Partners capital statements

  • Support quarter-end and year-end closing processes.

  • Perform other accounting-related tasks as assigned.

Required Skills & Experience  

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field

  • 0-2 years of accounting experience

  • Basic knowledge of accounting principles (GAAP/IFRS)

  • Proficiency in PC skills, especially Microsoft Excel

  • Solid written and verbal communication skills

  • Solid analytical and problem-solving skills

  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities with a sense of urgency

  • Basic investment industry knowledge

Base Pay:

$70,000.00 - $90,000.00. The base salary for this position may vary depending on experience, job-related knowledge, skills, and abilities. In addition to the base salary, this role will be eligible to participate in our annual bonus program. This role will also be eligible for compensated personal time off and holidays, health benefits, 401(k) plan with generous matching and profit sharing contributions, and other benefit programs according to the Company's employment policies and subject to the formal terms of such plans and programs.
