Program Summary

KBR supports the operational needs of U.S. armed forces at Morón Air Base in Spain and several bases in Turkey. Our services ensure smooth operations, allowing Air Force and government personnel to focus on their missions. We provide program management, civil engineering, morale, welfare, and recreation support, among other essential services. Awarded by the Air Force Installation Contracting Center, our contract spans a five-year base period with three one-year options, reflecting our commitment to excellence and operational support.

Job Summary

The Supervisor/Cashier works with the Dining Facility Manager to ensure kitchen operations operate within published guidelines. Currently, the Dining Facility (DFAC) is open 24/7, and supervisors work three rotating eight-hour shifts. When DFAC manager is not present the supervisor/cashier must assume management responsibilities and may dual hat as a cashier. The supervisor must keep up with food safety standards and make sure the facility is always clean.

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Must inspect thoroughly during the meal to make sure the operation is flowing smoothly, both back of the house and front of the house.
  • Must ensure recipe cards are available and utilized for all menu items prepared prior to the meal.
  • Prior to the start of the meal the supervisor must ensure the cashiers are fully aware of all menu items being served for a particular meal. The supervisor must validate charging codes (PLU) for all sales items.
  • Must be able to perform adjustments at the end of each meal based on leftovers annotated on the Production Log.
  • Must count change fund at the beginning and end of the shift and assist cashiers with change if needed.
  • Record refrigerator temperatures every four hours and take food temperatures on the serving line.
  • If necessary, assist Public Health Inspector during monthly visits.
  • In case of an accident, must be able to follow specific procedures, such as notifying management and filling out paperwork.
  • Update monthly exchange rate and update food prices.
  • Keep up with all Air Force and KBR training.
  • Daily use of Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) to complete reports, tasks, and communicate with customers and co-workers.
  • Train DFAC staff on mandatory daily safety taskers or pertinent training requirements.
  • Review and update production log accordingly.
  • Communicate effectively with customers, colleagues, and government officials via telephone, computer, and in-person, to include resolving customers’ concerns as needed
  • Assume ownership of the facility when managers are not present.

Basic Qualifications

  • Must have be able to speak, read, and write English level 3
  • Must be ServSafe certified.
  • Must be able to use POS (point-of-sale) register
  • Must have ability to communicate in Spanish

Preferred Qualifications

  • 3 years supervisory experience
  • 1 year cashier experience
