Hybrid Regional Technical Support Manager (Relocation Support) presso Ocado group

Job Purpose

Responsible for supporting site Project management, Continuous improvement, H&S management, and site Engineering operational excellence with support from Storeroom specialists, OSS(IT), and Controls Engineer.

Roles & Responsibilities

1. Safety, Health and Environment Compliance

• Support LEOMs and ETMs in meeting all SHE requirements in alignment with company policies and local regulations.
• Ensure compliance with safety work practices, guiding necessary training, documentation, and policies.

2. Equipment Installation, Commissioning & Standardization

• Act as the primary point of contact for all equipment installations and commissioning, ensuring smooth handovers from projects.
• Collaborate with Central Engineering, Technology Development, and other global Eng Ops teams to drive standardization and best practices across sites.
• Conduct MHE (Material Handling Equipment) maintenance audits and provide monthly reports to the REOM.

3. Workpack Management & Validation

• Own and manage all workpack rollouts within KOR, ensuring validation, control, and coordination.
• Oversee the validation of KOR site equipment SLAs using KPI packs and work with LEOMs to implement action plans that reduce DPTOs.

4. Performance Optimization & Continuous Improvement

• Analyze operational data to identify opportunities for MHE performance improvement.
• Lead continuous improvement initiatives by developing business cases, securing funding, and implementing changes.
• Work alongside KOR LEOMs to establish optimal MHE setups, operational standards, and documentation across sites.

5.  Technical System Support

• Support KOR Controls Engineers and OSS. Coordinate software updates, change requests, and on-site support.
• Streamline stores processes and procedures across KOR to optimize CapEx holdings.

6. Standardization & Cost Efficiency

• Coordinate the identification of spare parts, ensuring optimal stock levels and minimizing single points of failure.
• Oversee special tools and test equipment (STTE) requirements, ensuring adequate regional availability.
• Lead cross-site continuous improvement (CI) and cost-saving initiatives, including business case development and execution.

7. Communication & Reporting

• Serve as the central communication link between REOM, LEOMs, and other stakeholders.
• Develop and maintain efficient processes for information feedback to the Regional Engineering Manager.
• Provide clear and timely updates on key operational and engineering issues.

Knowledge, Skills & Experience

• 10 years of minumum engineering/technician experience in automated factory/logistics centers with people managing experience
• Must speak in Korean (Native speaker) 
• Business English Skills 
• Good technical ability relating to automation hardware and software, this may include, but is not limited to:
• Minimum experience equivalent to a technical college diploma
• Experience at a management or supervisory level
• Good organisational skills and the ability to plan and prioritise.
• Sound analytical skills with an eye for detail; good problem solving ability and a practical approach.
• Comprehensive understanding of production, picking and storage MHE systems, gained from experience in an automated environment.

Working Location : Gangseo-gu, Mieum-dong, Busan (강서구 국제물류센터 내 롯데신선식품자동화물류센터)

***This role will support the Busan CFC1 center for approximately one year and will require relocation to the Seoul metropolitan area (Ilsan) when the Gyeonggi CFC2 project begins. Housing support will be provided for candidates residing in either Busan or the Seoul metropolitan area to assist with the relocation.
