Responsibilities
The Associate Director of LillyDirect Communications, in partnership with the Senior Director of Corporate Communications, will plan and develop communications strategies and tactics related to LillyDirect, a first-to-market, direct-to-consumer digital health care platform offering curated health care service options to people living with migraine, obesity, diabetes and sleep apnea.
LillyDirect strives to serve people who are managing chronic diseases to help make each day a bit easier. LillyDirect also aims to simplify the often-complicated health care system to improve the patient experience, helping people access independent patient care and innovative prescribed medicines in a more curated way.
A skilled communicator with attention to detail, the Associate Director of LillyDirect Communications will ensure that all communications related to the platform are clear, consistent and aligned with the company’s messaging.
They will navigate a highly matrixed structure, collaborate with colleagues across many business units, and interact with leaders.
Key Objectives/Deliverables:
- Drive external communications strategies and tactics to raise awareness of LillyDirect among consumers.
- Support SVP of Lilly Direct and U.S. Consumer on strategy and preparation for conferences, panels and external presentations.
- Help educate consumers on the platform’s user-friendly tools and resources, providing better access and empowering patients’ health.
- Highlight key LillyDirect milestones associated with technology updates and multi-channel storytelling opportunities for priority disease states.
- Establish and maintain relationships with the media and coordinate paid and earned strategies to gain consumer-oriented coverage.
- Review and provide feedback on third-party communications materials to ensure Lilly’s role is correctly captured.
- Highlight Lilly spokespeople on consumer and retail stages to showcase LillyDirect's role in expanding access and reducing patient burden.
- Collaborate with key internal stakeholders to respond to, craft and vet responses to incoming media requests about LillyDirect.
- Develop media briefings and talking points for key interviews.
- Establish and manage relationships with external agencies.
- Support social media strategies with messaging to advance key announcements and initiatives.
- Stay informed of the external environment, identify relevant news coverage and handle issues appropriately.
- Track metrics and use analytics to measure results, adjusting tactics and content to improve outcomes.
- Lead communications planning and execution around other corporate initiatives or announcements as assigned.
- Identify ways to improve processes and create efficiencies to deliver maximum results across Global Communications.
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree and 7+ years of experience in a communications role.

- Proven track record in providing strategic, persuasive and appropriate communications counsel.
- Ability to address issues and remain calm under pressure.
- Vast project management capabilities, including process development and improvement, communications of best practices, and measurement.

Actual compensation will depend on a candidate’s education, experience, skills, and geographic location. The anticipated wage for this position is
$122,250 - $179,300Full-time equivalent employees also will be eligible for a company bonus (depending, in part, on company and individual performance).
