The Role: Fabrication Technician 

 

Reporting to the Room Manager, the Fabrication Technician is responsible for setting up, calibrating, cleaning, operating, and performing minor preventative maintenance service to various pieces of fabrication machinery. Bringing your knowledge and experience in machine operation, you will be trained on the equipment and tools. What You Do (Responsibilities):

 

Production

  • Operate 3D printers, vacuum formers, and other fabrication equipment to produce moulds for production departments.
  • Assemble, trim, and finish moulds according to production specifications and quality standards.
  • Conduct inspections to ensure moulds meet required dimensions, tolerances, and quality criteria.
  • Identify and troubleshoot issues in mould production processes, making necessary adjustments.
  • Use power tools to shape, refine, and complete moulds.
  • Mark reference points or guidelines to assist with precise assembly and component placement.

Equipment

  • Set up, operate, and calibrate 3D printers, vacuum formers, and related equipment.
  • Perform routine cleaning, maintenance, and repairs on equipment to ensure optimal performance and prevent downtime.
  • Maintain a wide variety of power tools in good and safe working condition including annual safety inspections
  • Report equipment malfunctions or issues to supervisors and collaborate on resolution.

Quality

  • Follow company standards, guidelines, and safety procedures during all phases of production.
  • Conduct quality checks at various stages of production to ensure compliance with product specifications.
  • Document production data, complete checklists, and submit reports to the RMT when needed.

Collaboration

  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives and suggest process enhancements.
  • Collaborate with team members and supervisors to resolve production challenges.
  • Contribute to a positive team environment focused on learning, safety, and shared success.
  • Support in training new staff members with established SOPs

Safety

  • Follow health and safety protocols, including the use of PPE and proper handling of materials and tools.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and hazard-free workspace.
  • Report unsafe conditions or incidents to the appropriate personnel.

Logistics

  • Prepare, organize, and package finished moulds for transfer to production areas.

Who You Are (Qualifications):

Required Skills

  • Familiar with 3D printing, vacuum forming, or other mould fabrication technologies.
  • Basic technical skills related to equipment setup, operation, and troubleshooting.
  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to detect errors or defects.
  • Basic computer literacy for equipment controls and production reporting.
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift materials up to 50 lbs for extended periods.
  • Comfortable working in a fast -paced, high-production environment. 
  • Able to work with moderate noise levels and manufacturing equipment. 

Preferred Skills

  • Experience working in a manufacturing, fabrication, or production environment.
  • Familiar with Lock Out / Tag out practices.
  • Technical aptitude/familiarity with machine processes.
  • Relevant work experience such as in a trade or machine operator.
  • Previous Lush experience as a Seasonal Machine Operator.
  • Technical qualification/certification.
  • Computer proficiency, and familiarity with PLC controls.
