About the Role:
This position helps drives sales for AGF’s intermediary business in the United States, with a focus on distributing SMA/UMA models and U.S ETFs within advisory sales channels. Prioritized investment strategies include Liquid Alts, U.S. equity and Global/Emerging Markets equity strategies, Sustainable Investments and in due course, Private Markets strategies.
This position will ideally operate out of our Boston office in a hybrid setting but we are open to other U.S. locations as well.
Your Responsibilities:
- Promote AGF’s investment strategies to financial advisors/wealth managers across designated relationships and territories in the United States. Clients may invest in AGF strategies via separate account / SMA models, ETFs or segregated accounts.
- Meet sales and revenue targets building a strong pipeline of new business opportunities.
- Actively contribute to increasing sales of AGF investment strategies via existing intermediary /d platform clients, ensuring high awareness and strong positioning of AGF investment strategies by Registered Investment Advisors’ (RIAs) using those platforms.
- Conduct proactive outbound sales calls and meetings with new and existing clients.
- Proactively provide support to advisers/wealth managers on the market, AGF’s investment performance and strategies, portfolio manager philosophies/style/process as well as portfolio profiles, products, company updates and industry trends.
- Effectively represent and position AGF’s investment strategies with Advisors in calls, adviser meetings, client seminars, field presentations, roadshows etc.
- Work with the VP, Institutional Sales and Senior Manager, Institutional Business Management to step new business wins through the client onboarding processes.
- Collaborate with institutional team members in North America and globally to advance new business opportunities.
- Partner with the team to actively seek out networking opportunities and represent AGF Investments at key industry and client events.
- Stay current with key competitors and effectively communicate advantages and opportunities when presented with competitive situations.
- Coordinate objectives and agendas for meetings involving AGF’s investment professionals.
- Utilize AGF’s CRM system to plan and record activities and identify/manage prospects.
Your Qualifications:
- Good knowledge of the investment industry combined with 2-5 years of investment experience. Minimum 2 years of marketing investment strategies / products to the intermediary marketplace in the United States.
- Experience of distributing public and liquid alternatives strategies.
- Experience in RIA, Family Office, Broker/Dealer sales channels in the United States.
- A demonstrated and quantifiable record of success in contributing to selling and building relationships within the intermediary marketplace in the United States.
- Some knowledge of the SMA/UMA marketplace and key custodial / TAMP platforms is desirable.
- Strong and proven spoken communication and presentation skills.
- Engaging personality and excellent interpersonal and organization skills.
- Self-motivated with the ability to operate well in a team environment and be a strong team player.
- An understanding of how to develop and execute sales- plans.
- Undergraduate degree required; Masters/MBA degree; with or studying towards CFA, CAIA or equivalent designations preferred.
- Series 7 and 63 licenses required.
- Knowledge of Salesforce and databases such as Dakota, Discovery Data, Morningstar Direct and eVestment is desirable.
