VA/VE Product Engineer

TE Connectivity in Winston-Salem, NC is looking for a VA/VE Product Engineer to conduct thorough reviews of product designs and specifications to identify areas for improvement. Analyze and provide hands-on evaluation of the Automotive Segment’s Products for Americas, such as contactors, connectors, and terminals to list a few to identify VA/VE opportunities. Develop, execute, and report on plans to maximize the VA/VE opportunities. Coordinate with cross-functional teams (Engineering, Purchasing, External Suppliers, Reliability Labs, and Manufacturing) on executing the VA/VE Opportunity Plan. Develop and execute relevant product validation test plans, in close consultation with customers, the engineering team and reliability test labs. Additional responsibilities may include providing technical support, root cause and failure analyses and problem-solving assistance on manufacturing or quality issues related to product design intent, function and application. Collaborate closely with production plant personnel to identify opportunities for product improvement. Collaborate with design and manufacturing teams to develop cost-saving strategies without compromising quality. Facilitate brainstorming sessions and workshops to foster a culture of continuous improvement. Analyze market trends and customer feedback to inform design modifications and enhancements. Prepare detailed reports and presentations to communicate findings and recommendations to stakeholders. Monitor and assess the effectiveness of implemented VA/VE initiatives, providing insights for future projects. Telecommuting permitted.
Requirements: Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronic Engineering, or related field (or foreign equivalent), plus 2 years of experience in the job offered, or in a related occupation.
