Description

The Shipping Clerk is responsible for accurately and efficiently processing outgoing shipments. This includes preserving and packaging parts according to departmental work instructions, applying shipping labels, recording shipment details in the ERP system, and ensuring products are shipped in accordance with customer specifications. The role also includes operating scales to weigh and count products and verifying that the correct items are being prepared for shipment.

Hours:
Shift 14: Monday–Thursday, 2:00 PM–12:00 AM

Hourly rate of pay:
$19.25/hour base rate plus $1.25 per hour shift differential. Relevant experience may increase base pay up to $20.25 per hour.

Key Responsibilities

• Ensure scales are accurately weighing and counting products
• Package products according to customer specifications
• Enter shipment details into the ERP system and print required documents
• Attach shipping documents and labels to packaged materials
• Wrap and band palletized containers to prevent shifting during transport
• Verify that correct items and quantities are prepared for shipment
• Follow shipping department procedures and work instructions
• Maintain an organized and efficient shipping workspace

Requirements

• Basic math skills for weighing, counting, and verifying shipments
• Ability to use computers or tablets to record and access shipping information
• Ability to follow written and electronic work instructions
• Ability to work independently and maintain accuracy throughout the shift
• 1–6 months of relevant work experience required

Physical Requirements

• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs frequently
• Ability to stand and walk throughout the shift
• Frequent bending, reaching, and handling of packaged materials and containers
• Use of hands for labeling, scanning, weighing, and banding tasks
• Required PPE: eye protection, hearing protection, MET guard safety shoes
