Description

Company Description: John W. Stone Oil Distributor, LLC is the local leader in dockside, mid-streaming, and offshore fueling along the Mississippi River, from Baton Rouge to Venice, Louisiana, and into the Gulf of Mexico and Texas.

Position: Inventory/Staff Accountant

Reports To: Director of Financial Accounting

Location: Gretna, LA

Work Schedule: 7 a.m. to 4 p.m., Monday – Friday. Some overtime may be required on an as-needed basis.

Essential Job Duties:

  • Audit inventory transactions.
  • Daily balancing of company-wide inventory.
  • Oversight of month-end physical inventory count.
  • Identify, research, and resolve any errors related to fuel sales and/or purchases.
  • Communicate with dock managers to resolve any inventory issues.
  • Assist with monthly closing procedures.
  • Reconcile physical inventory to general ledger.
  • Assist other company departments with any inventory questions.
  • Other duties include assisting with the month-end closing process.
  • Prepare journal entries.
  • Complete monthly general ledger reconciliations.
  • Respond to audit data requests.
  • Provide general support to the entire accounting department.
  • Assist with special projects on an as-needed basis.
  • Other duties that may be requested by Director, Supervisor or Executive Management as needed.

Qualifications


  • Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance.
  • At least 1-2 years of accounting experience.
  • Strong overall computer and technology skills desired.
  • Ability to manage a workload with various deadlines.
  • Demonstrate strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office.
  • Inventory experience a plus
