St. George’s Beneficial C of E Primary School is seeking to appoint an enthusiastic Midday Assistant to work 7.5 hours per week. 

Hours are 11.45am – 13.15pm Monday – Friday, term time only, 39 weeks

Contract: Fixed term until August 2026 (possibility for permanent position)

Salary Details: Band 1, FTE £23,473, pro-rata £4126.68

Required Start Date: As Soon As Possible

Closing Date: Friday 26th September 2025

Interview Date: week beginning  Monday 29th September 2025

This is a busy and varied role requiring the successful candidate to supervise pupils during the lunchtime period.  Our team of lunchtime staff work together sharing different duties over the week.  Duties include:

 

  • Supervising and assisting children in the dinner hall to collect, eat and clear away their meals
  • Supervising and engaging children in play activities on the playground
  • Ensuring children play together positively and co-operatively with good behaviour
  • During periods of ‘wet play’ engage children in suitable classroom activities, ensuring classroom behaviour expectations are upheld
  • Administering first aid (training will be provided)
  • Uphold the school’s safeguarding policy in accordance with Keeping Children Safe in Education
