Job Description:

Role Overview

We are seeking a Technical Writer to support development and maintain high-quality technical documentation that supports our engineering and maintenance operations. You will collaborate with subject matter experts to produce clear, accurate, and compliant documentation aligned with industry standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop, author, review, and standardise technical publications, including maintenance manuals, operating procedures, and engineering documentation.
  • Ensure documentation complies with Australian and international standards and safety principles.
  • Incorporate engineering design changes and manage document version control.
  • Translate complex technical concepts into clear, user-friendly content for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Conduct peer reviews and quality checks to maintain accuracy and consistency.
  • Liaise with engineering, operations, and customer teams to gather requirements and validate content.
  • Maintain document libraries and support continuous improvement of documentation processes.

 

Skills & Experience

  • 1–5 years experience in technical writing within engineering, rail, or related industries.
  • Strong ability to produce clear, concise, and well-structured documentation.
  • Familiarity with document control systems and change management processes.
  • Knowledge of Australian and international standards relevant to rail and engineering documentation.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Proficiency in MS Office, SharePoint and technical authoring tools (e.g., Adobe Acrobat, MadCap Flare).
  • Understanding of safety principles and ability to integrate into documentation.
