Job purpose

Reporting to the Recruitment Manager, the Junior Recruiter is responsible for supporting end-to-end full-cycle recruitment for Matrix, with a focus on supporting our Projects, Operations and Mechanical teams. In this exciting role, you will work with a multifaceted, enthusiastic, and collaborative team of professionals to fill vacancies across our operations and improve recruitment efficiencies. The Junior Recruiter will play a key role in helping attract, source and onboard top talent for our growing organization.

Position Overview

The successful candidate will have a proven track record of recruitment experience, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment. This will be an office based role, at our office located in sunny Osoyoos, BC. For the successful candidate, temporary staff housing and relocation assistance will be provided.

Primary Duties and responsibilities

The Junior Recruiter performs a wide range of duties including some or all the following:

  • Action and execute directed recruitment strategies to attract top talent.
  • Identify and source qualified candidates through various channels, including job boards, social media, networking, and referrals.
  • Screen resumes, schedule and conduct phone and in-person interviews, and make recommendations for candidates to hiring managers.
  • Manage the hiring process from start to finish, including preparing job descriptions, posting job ads, scheduling interviews, and extending job offers.
  • Set up and maintain all electronic hiring and employee files.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with hiring managers to understand their staffing needs and provide recommendations for talent acquisition.
  • Collaborate with the HR team to develop and improve recruitment processes and procedures.
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable laws and regulations related to recruitment and hiring.
  • All other related duties to the role.

Requirements

  • Post secondary education in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field.
  • 2+ years of recruitment experience, preferably in a fast-paced environment
  • CPHR designation, or working towards it, is a definite asset.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Knowledge of employment standards and regulations related to recruitment and hiring.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and applicant tracking systems.
  • Flexibility to work outside of normal business hours as needed, including weekends and evenings.

Compensation: $55,000– $70,000/year base salary, DOE.
