The QA Manager/SQF Practitioner is responsible for ensuring that all Mom’s Meals food safety and quality system requirements are met and that we are following current government regulations. The QA Manager provides servant leadership and reports directly to the Director, Food Safety & Quality.

Position Responsibilities may include, but not limited to
Provide system guidance for SQF systems, food safety plans, quality programs, including implementation, staff training and documentationProvide facility food safety and quality leadership Provide communication between food safety and operations which includes sanitation and working on special projectsUpdate SQF systems and food safety plans as requirements/rules and product lines and ingredient changes occurAssist with annual SQF system and food safety plan reassessmentAssure programs, policies and procedures are compliant and kept currentLiaison to regulatory, customer, internal and 3rd party auditsPerform internal audits (Glass & Brittle Plastic, GMPs, Pest Control, Food Defense, Allergen Control, Label Verification, Receiving, etc.)Maintain current library for all GMPs, SOPs, and SSOPs; manage GMP training and refresher trainingPerform other duties as assigned by the Technical Services Team
Required Skills and Experience
Bachelors degree in Food Science, Microbiology, or Meat Science OR 2 year degree (Associate Science)1+ years' experience in a management or supervisory role in a food manufacturing and/or food distribution facility Excellent knowledge of HACCP & HARPC and experience in implementation of Food Safety Management PlansKnowledge of a recognized GFSI audit scheme (i.e. SQF, BRC, ISO)Certification by recognized HACCP training provider required. (Meat, Poultry) Working knowledge of FDA regulations and guidelines for food manufacturing PCQI certification Must be proficient in Microsoft Office programsMust have the ability to communicate in English orally and in writing with coworkers, regulatory officials, and plant managementShows initiative and able to work as part of a team; communicates effectivelyExcellent organization and decision-making skillsMust have the ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment
Preferred Skills and Experience
Fluency in Spanish both verbal and written GFSI schema training desired (SQF, BRC, etc.)Certification by recognized HACCP training provider (Meat, Poultry)
