Position Overview:
As a Data Science Intern at Kouper, you'll play a critical role in building our data infrastructure and analytics capabilities. This role focuses on leveraging SQL, LookML, and Python to build dashboards, conduct ad-hoc analysis, and generate insights that drive business decisions across our rapidly-scaling healthcare technology platform.
You will work directly with the Head of Strategy & Ops and cross-functional teams to transform raw data into actionable insights. The internship will be structured around discrete projects and your success will be measured based on the quality and fidelity of your output on these projects. This internship is perfect for a top-performing student who is passionate about using data to solve complex business challenges.
Responsibilities:
Data Infrastructure & Analytics
- Build and maintain dashboards using business intelligence tools to support comprehensive retrospective analysis and ongoing areas of interest
- Write SQL queries to extract, transform, and analyze large datasets
- Develop LookML models to support self-service analytics across the organization
- Create automated reporting solutions to monitor business performance and operational efficiency
Ad-hoc Analysis & Reporting
- Conduct deep-dive analyses to support strategic initiatives and answer critical business questions
- Generate insights from business data to identify trends, patterns, and optimization opportunities
- Support market research initiatives with quantitative analysis and data visualization
Technical Development
- Use Python to support statistical analysis and process automation
- Collaborate on data pipeline development and optimization
- Ensure data quality and integrity across reporting systems
- Document analytical processes and maintain code repositories
