The purpose of Professional Learning Quality and Enablement Senior Manager at Zearn is to ensure that every educator's professional learning experience, whether led by an internal facilitator or a certified external partner, meets the bar Zearn sets for quality, so that PD reliably translates into stronger math instruction and progress toward Zearn's mission to make all kids math kids.

This role is critical as Zearn's professional learning reaches educators through more channels than ever: internal facilitators, a growing network of certified external delivery partners, and new delivery formats still taking shape. Reporting to the Professional Learning Ops Director, you will sit on the PL Delivery team as the person responsible for making sure quality holds steady across every one of those channels. You will set and enforce the standard external partners must meet to earn and keep certification, turn what educators tell us about their PD experience into action the team can use, and personally deliver PD yourself at the moments where facilitation judgment matters most. This is achieved by:

Setting and enforcing the certification standard that ensures every external partner delivers Zearn PD at the level we require.

• Partner with PL Director to set the certification standards and own evaluation criteria external delivery partners must meet, and recommend certification and decertification decisions to the Professional Learning Ops Director, who holds final authority.
• Design and run ongoing quality monitoring for certified partners, observation, delivery QA, and analysis of partner-specific survey data.
• Identify performance issues early through this monitoring, and work directly with partners to problem-solve and close gaps before they reach educators.
• Maintain a working definition of Zearn's core PD messages and participant experience standards precise enough to evaluate delivery against, not just describe in the abstract.

Turning what educators tell us about their PD experience into a shared source of truth that sharpens delivery across the team.

• Own regular review and synthesis of participant feedback across both internal and external professional learning, identifying emerging needs, recurring questions, and improvement opportunities.
• Analyze survey results across audiences and segments, and synthesize themes from open-ended feedback that wouldn't otherwise surface.
• Establish and maintain routines for triaging participant questions that need follow-up, routing them to PL Delivery colleagues or the Content team as appropriate.
• Share recurring patterns and actionable learnings with PL Delivery leadership to inform facilitator support, resourcing, and delivery decisions.

Building the team's capacity to deliver new and specialized forms of PD as Zearn's needs evolve.

• Take on emerging PD Delivery projects that call for facilitation expertise and the judgment to move from ambiguity to execution.
• Develop and pilot new delivery approaches, gather feedback on them, and recommend whether and how they should become part of ongoing PL Delivery practice.
• Current priorities may include curriculum professional learning, condensed sessions, and other specialized delivery models.

Personally delivering high-stakes PD, and using that experience to keep every standard you set grounded in what actually happens in the room.

• Personally lead or support complex, high-visibility, or emerging professional learning experiences where strong facilitation expertise and judgment are especially important.
• Use direct delivery experience to inform quality improvement and special-project work.

• What partner quality routines can we operationalize in the short term, and what requires dedicated, hands-on oversight while long-term systems are built?
• How do we transform high-volume participant feedback into actionable delivery insights that directly improve facilitation and inform curriculum design?
• When should we invest in targeted partner remediation versus initiating formal decertification to ensure Zearn's quality standards remain uncompromised?
• How do we pilot and refine specialized delivery models (such as condensed sessions and curriculum-aligned formats) so they can be reliably scaled across the team?
• Which facilitation practices are critical during high-stakes sessions to model exemplary math professional learning and protect the educator experience?

Skills You Bring to the Table

• Standards Architect: You translate abstract notions of "great delivery" into concrete, rubric-driven evaluation criteria. You know how to build quality assurance systems, observation routines, and certification benchmarks that hold third-party partners accountable without requiring constant manual intervention.
• Insight Synthesizer: You look past surface-level survey averages to identify patterns, root causes, and unspoken learner needs across qualitative and quantitative data. You turn educator feedback into clear takeaways that inspire operational and pedagogical adjustments.
• Adaptive Facilitator: You command the room in high-stakes, ambiguous, or complex learning environments. You have deep pedagogical judgment in math instruction and adult learning, enabling you to model excellence under pressure and translate lived classroom reality into delivery standards.
• Pragmatic Systems Builder: You know how to bridge the gap between short-term triage and long-term operational efficiency. You design lightweight workflows, feedback routing mechanisms, and partner management protocols that scale sustainably as organizational reach expands.
• Constructive Quality Champion: You deliver candid, actionable feedback to external partners and internal stakeholders with tact and firmness. You navigate challenging partner performance conversations constructively, always centering student and educator outcomes.

Potential Markers of these Skills

• 5+ years of experience spanning professional learning design, instructional coaching, adult learning facilitation, or education program operations.
• Demonstrated track record of designing or managing quality assurance / certification frameworks for external partners, contracted facilitators, or multi-site delivery networks.
• Strong analytical capability synthesizing multi-source data (surveys, observation rubrics, qualitative participant feedback) into actionable recommendations and executive summaries.
• Proven excellence in high-stakes facilitation and math pedagogy, with direct classroom teaching, instructional leadership, or district-level professional development experience.
• Experience building operational systems and routines from ambiguity, particularly transitioning manual QA/support workflows into automated or repeatable team processes.

This role is remote and can be performed in any of the following states/locations:

Compensation & Benefits

The compensation range for this role is $100,000 - $125,000 per year.
