About the Role

We are looking for a Senior Frontend Engineer to help shape the future of StraitsX. You will play a key role in designing, building, and maintaining robust, scalable, and user-friendly applications. This role requires strong technical expertise in JavaScript, ReactJS, and NodeJS, with a solid understanding of software architecture, performance optimization, and user experience.
You should have a deep understanding of HTTP protocols and web fundamentals, and be capable of making architectural decisions. Familiarity with OAuth, frontend performance tooling, and financial systems or payments infrastructure will be highly valuable.
As a senior engineer, you’ll also be expected to mentor teammates, lead by example in technical excellence, and contribute meaningfully to engineering culture.
 
What You'll Do
  • Own the architecture and implementation of critical web application features using JavaScript/TypeScript, React, and NodeJS.
  • Translate complex business and product requirements into well-architected frontend solutions.
  • Collaborate with product managers, designers, and backend engineers to deliver seamless, performant user experiences.
  • Lead by example in code quality, testing practices, and engineering standards.
  • Drive continuous improvements in performance, usability, accessibility, and maintainability.
  • Mentor engineers, conduct thoughtful code reviews, and help raise the overall technical bar of the team.
What We’re Looking For
  • 5+ years of professional experience building and shipping frontend applications.
  • Deep proficiency in JavaScript, React, and ideally TypeScript.
  • Strong experience with NodeJS and frontend tooling (e.g., Vite, ESLint).
  • Strong understanding of web protocols (HTTP, caching, cookies, CORS) and browser behavior.
  • Familiarity with OAuth, end-to-end testing frameworks like Playwright, and CI/CD pipelines
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate across teams.
  • A user-first mindset with an eye for clean, intuitive interfaces.
