Job Description
The IT Software Engineer IV builds and maintains our corporate websites and web applications. This role is independently responsible for the entire lifecycle of their projects including engineering design, development, and deployment. The IT Software Engineer IV leads or significantly contributes to medium-to large releases; usually multi-person projects that cross engineering team boundaries. They are also responsible for growing team capability by teaching, mentoring, and leading other engineers. This is a full-time position with remote, hybrid and on-site opportunities available.

Pay
Based on the Sacramento region, the new hires minimum and maximum target salary for this role is $110k - $125k.
Inductive Automation’s ranges are market-driven and set to allow for flexibility. Although it is not typical for an individual to start at the top end of the range for the position, compensation decisions are dependent on: the facts and circumstances of each case, work location, job-related skills, experience, relevant education or training; and other business and organizational needs.
ResponsibilitiesMaintaining clear expertise in one or more technical areasContributing to defining strategic direction, planning the roadmap, escalating issues, and synthesizing feedback to ensure team successParticipating in the design review process, seeking and providing constructive criticismCrossing team and service boundaries to solve problemsBuilding relationships with stakeholders including customers, product managers, cross-functional partners, and external partnersMonitoring and adjusting team pace to instill urgency for success and protect from burnoutEstimating and managing project timelines and riskProviding timely updates and warnings of project progressionEnsuring that knowledge is shared amongst the team and does not position themselves or others as a single point of failureWorking through others; lifting the skills and expertise of those around themAdvising manager with insights and recommendations to improve the teamRecruiting and hiring involvement for the IT Division, not just for positions on the immediate teamMentoring other engineers, primarily Software Engineer I, Software Engineer II, and Software Engineer III’sRequirementsBachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or equivalent experience5+ years of software development experience in a production environmentDemonstrated history of providing high impact technical contributions to the teamExperience in leading or significantly contributing to medium-to-large releases that involve multiple people and may cross team boundariesStrong knowledge of PythonStrong knowledge of SQL databasesStrong knowledge RESTful APIsFamiliarity with Web technologies (HTML5, JavaScript, CSS)Familiarity with Linux (Ubuntu Server and Desktop)Excellent communication and interpersonal skillsExcellent technical troubleshooting skillsExperience with (Figma, Invision, Yarn, NPM, Git)Relational database experience (MySQL, PostgreSQLExperience with Frameworks: Django, Drupal (Model-View-Controller framework or variation)Not required, but preferred: Familiarity with Docker / ContainerizationFamiliarity with Postman / Swagger (API testing tools)Familiarity with SASS (CSS preprocessor)About Us
