The job of a Respite Provider is to support individuals with Intellectual or Developmental disabilities for one or more continuous days either in the client's home or in the staff's home. Respite Services provides a short break for families who care for loved ones with intellectual disabilities. Respite staff are responsible for providing and/or preparing meals and caring for the supported individual during this time.

This is a contract position with flexible scheduling based on the needs of the client.

Staff are reimbursed $175 per 24 hour period.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Provides support to individuals with intellectual or developmental disabilities.
  • Provides transportation for and accompanies the individual on community-based activities, if necessary.
  • Submit Respite Forms that document activities that reflect consumer outcomes as required.
  • Provides all insurance, vehicle, and drivers information.
  • Must be capable of scheduling independently with clients/families.
  • Complete scheduled trainings as assigned.
  • Follows individual's ISP
  • Submits paperwork timely and accurately

Education and/or Experience:

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Valid Pennsylvania Driver’s License
  • Access to a privately owned vehicle
  • Experience preferred but not required.
